Epic design failure…Well guys, I got around 7k miles on the Terra joint until the boot tore today.
Good thing is I caught this one super early. It's full failed, but I could see the initial failure a bit better since it just tore open. I am very much thinking the boots outer shell is too close. I believe the boot itself might be able to handle the angle, but it's seems some unique position of the axle will allow the shaft to pinch the boot. This is probably exacerbated by running the max caster spec and beyond.Epic design failure…
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Hopefully you can make this point of failure great again.I am going to likely order two new joints and experiment with one of the boot housings.
I won't drive a Yota. At least not for long. I like rebuilding them and flipping them but that's about it.Thank you for your attention to this matter. Hopefully you can make this point of failure great again.
If not, you'll probably just caster aside and buy a bulletproof Tacoma.
