Front Drive Shaft Repair Day

Just noticed I posted at 15K above, and at 25K the terra version failed on the highway, in spectacular fashion. It is definitely a bummer for Ineos, but does seem like it needs to be a significant re-design and safety recall. Driveshafts that fall out on highways is dangerous. Mine would have come out eventually.

I’m completely ignorant on the subject but I have a question. Doesn’t the TeraFlex move the flexing point farther from the differential, thereby increasing the angle?

Please clarify.

The Terra flex joint is an identical replacement of the factory joint.

Years ago I suggested some kind of kevlar boot ; not great in compression/stretch but as a floppy sock it might help a bit.
The issue is that the inside of the boot needs to apply light pressure on the CV balls and cage so that the grease stays in the moving parts. The boot is maxed out even at stock ride height

Agree. My point was more that a secondary boot could mitigate against a rock strike , as well as dirt ingress through a split - and potentially buy time until you can replace it.
