EXACTLY! When you look at the sales in the USA a large percentage of them are people who are looking for a cool alternative to the G63...Maybe with 22“ wheels and sidepipes for the malls…
Thirst? Who cares about fuel prices when you're a celeb poseur? Or as we say dowunder, a wanker.I don’t see that coming in real life.
It’s an appealing idea but the engine would be heavier than the existing and the thirst would grow as well.

The big worry is that the bean counters on both sides might see the 6.2L as an "opportunity"...Does GM even make a modern reliable V8 right now? Thousands of 6.2L engines with catastrophic main bearing failures. Also other V8 issues with lifters due to cylinder deactivation technology.
The 5.3 is still going strong. I didn’t really see the point of the 6.2. Little gain. Bragging rights I guess and a little more pull power. The 5.3 is pretty solid.Does GM even make a modern reliable V8 right now? Thousands of 6.2L engines with catastrophic main bearing failures. Totally agree! I don’t think the Grenadier would benefit from as big a lump as the 6.2L it would be overkill. Still, with the likes of GM, Ford and even Toyota, in the case of the turbo V6 Tundra, suffering what seems like endless engine failures and recalls if IA wants to produce a beefy V8 version I hope they do their research before settling on a supplier domestic or otherwise. The 5.3 is still going strong. That poor ZF gearbox...that poor front driveshaft
