Thread 'Manufacturer Window Stickers?'
Thinking about doing a window kit of "stickers" from all the manufacturers that went into my upcoming pride and joy... what say you all... who am i missing? There is some serious tech in this thing, and I kind of want to flex that on my rig... back window (small window beneath the ladder?).... or maybe integrate it into the vinyl when i wrap the door with red/orange?
Has anyone yet seen an aftermarket external sun visor? I’ve seen a few prototypes for roof-mounted lights in a moulding, but nothing to stop those lights (or the sun in daytime) spilling into the driver’s vision. An external sun visor, or an extended visor from the roof-mounted lights, would be a nice addition.
Hello, I'm going to Italy soon with the Grenadier and want to use a Telepass transponder. Does anyone know if the windshield is coated? The Telepass transponder must be glued in the recoated area of the windshield. https://www.maut1.de/en/Tollbox-ES-IT-PT-FR/ Greetings wueste
Thread 'Aftermarket grill'
How do you like this kind of grill? Shown during "Abenteurer Allrad 2023".
I’ve always liked sunroofs and open Jeeps. Disappointed with the small safari windows, but I’ll probably get them. That would limit my rack options, but is there a knock on effect on what I can get for those 270degree awnings and roof top tents? Obviuosly less roof rack space on top, but also shorter rails on the sides for mounting awnings. Thoughts?
Hi all, does anyone know the weight bearing capacity of the small rear door and ladder? I am looking to mount an outboard engine on the ladder that weighs 43kg. I know it can take a human climbing up and down it so at least 80kg but that is presumably with the door shut. So checking it will be ok opening the door with 43kg on the ladder?
I’m thinking of having the nose and small rear door wrapped in a contrast colour as per the early demo/prototype vehicles. Has anyone done this on their vehicle or for some other reason had experience removing the rear ladder and trim on the small rear door? I would be interested in any tips on dismantling and regarding what bits pop off/screw off/are glued on/break (or are liable to) when removed. Thanks
I saw someone measured the width of the gutters on another thread but I can’t find it now. By width I mean the channel width, looks like it might be 25-30mm?
Thread 'Bonnet Catches'
The Grenadier has two, but I've noticed the left hand one on mine has @4mm of freeplay in the end; whilst the right hand one is rock solid. I can't see any obvious way to tighten it up and wondered if this one is meant to be that way to allow for a little freeplay in the rear hinges?
Thread 'What's Magnetic & What's Not?'
Whilst investigating the magnetic properties of the hinges on this thread: https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/replacement-hinges.12412244/ I ran the magnet over all the other external panels: The rear quarter section with the vent panel is not magnetic and actually feels like plastic; as does the rear roof trim panel above the rear door: Roof: Roof gutter: Front bulkhead/windscreen surround:
Thread 'Exterior door mirror adjustment 5 seat Station Waggon'
Good Morning Folks being extra thick today...... A silly question- how do I adjust the exterior door mirrors? The manual says The door looks like this The electrical adjustment part of the exterior mirror isn't there. There is no other way of adjusting the mirrors visable So before I start pulling the mirror on the outside and breaking something - is this correct or is there something missing - like the standard mirror adjustment panel ? Any help gratefully received, and anyone...
Are the “Rock Sliders” from Ineos simply bolted on, such that they could be added after delivery, or is their design such that factory installation is required?
Does anyone have the dimensions?
Anyone here with expertise in paint finishes and wrapping? I have heard (don’t know how accurate it is) that the reason that the option to have nose and tail wrapped in a separate colour from the factory was dropped, was that the paint needs more time to cure before wrapping and that wrapping that early after production and painting was causing paint quality issues. I was planning to put a clear self healing wrap on mine shortly after delivery to protect from bush pinstriping and bird...
Thread 'Safari window bag'
Hi All Safari window bag good quality and well padded from the look and feel.
Having had my drivers side window glass replaced/repaired 3 times since 2013, due to regulator issues /switch issues/glass exploding in my ear issues, on my 2013 VW Amarok, I have often mused that manual winding is no big deal and more reliable, less prone to failure. I am wondering if this was considered in the design of IG. Like to think I'm not a total luddite or tech averse/phobic, just that sometimes simpler is better. A quick google search shows that Ford, Kia, Nissan ad Jeep (at least...
All the pics I have seen show the small rear door on the left. It makes sense for those of us who drive on the left side. Does the G have this setup or moved the small door to the right side to make loading from the footpath easier for those who drive on the right side of the road.
Thread 'Grenadier Badges'
I didn't realise that there is a badge on the front of the Grenadier underneath the front windscreen on the left side. A close photo says Fieldmaster and I suspect a Trialmaster but what will a standard wagon say?
As these are supposed to be easily removable, has anyone come across dedicated stowage option for them if removed. I.e some chocks on the backs of the front seats or in the boot somewhere etc?
Not sure what Peoples thoughts are on the tinted glass options. At the moment I’ve ordered black because I’m not really a contrast sort of person. Not sure I need much solar control in Surrey but thought it may aid security a bit and suit the colour. Cheers all
