Workshop Manuals available?

Why on earth is there a 6 week waiting period for them to send this? Why not just publish it? Are there trade secrets in there?

Lynn mentioned the particulars when we met (we’re working to get the interview out asap) but basically, the system was designed for dealer use in that it was created with the expectation of a few hundred user accounts. These accounts have to be created manually and the process is a bit time consuming and very clunky.

It's not going to be a published manual, it's an online tool which allows you to investigate the items you are interested in.

My supposition is that they have limited server capacity so want to drip feed users onto the system.

I guess it’s better than nothing, but since it’s online, they can pull access at any time. Right? Not sure how useful that is in the long run. Also, I’m not sure about that description that you can investigate problems. Is it not a true manual??

My VIN is 1312, no e-mail yet. But do I still need it? During the last two years I dismounted (and sometimes broke) a lot of things and I know the electrics quite well! Better late than never anyway.
And only free for 12 months! And after that? How much?

you wait for so long for it to arrive - get all excited when it is almost here - and then see on facebook that people are getting emails suggesting that "access is free for 12mth" - sigh - can't see early adopters being happy with that!

It's probably so long to be on the conservative side rather than the shorter side to stop people moaning at them if they fall behind registering people

Hmmm, no email for me yet.
VIN is 673, so I don’t think the mails go by VIN.
The car is working fine at the moment so I don’t really need it.
