Friday I brought the grenadier home :p

during the various checks carried out on the vehicle I noticed this thing on one side of the gearbox. It looks like a lever.

do you know what it is for?

Thanks

thanks!

in our case, however, "park" is engaged/disengaged electronically from the gear selector, right?

ok, but in that case isn't it better to free the transfer case by switching it to "neutral"?

on the other hand it is the last component of the transmission therefore the gearbox would also be disconnected

So if you pull that lever it goes from park into neutral?

As opposed to the neutral 'N' bolt on the transfer case?

I havn't managed a coffee yet so not thought it through

Agree, putting the transfer case into neutral would seem to be the logical way to go, I suppose it depends why you want to be in "neutral", presumably the gearbox has this facility when used in other vehicle applications.

I would think the lever supercedes the Allen head in terms of ease. You pull it and the transmission is now in neutral vs turning the bolt buy don't turn it to far.
