Agree, putting the transfer case into neutral would seem to be the logical way to go, I suppose it depends why you want to be in "neutral", presumably the gearbox has this facility when used in other vehicle applications.ok, but in that case isn't it better to free the transfer case by switching it to "neutral"?
on the other hand it is the last component of the transmission therefore the gearbox would also be disconnected
