Water ingress manual, "WaterWiki"

Hello together,

it looks like that I'm not the only one who is searching for explanations where water gets ino the Grenadier.
Reminds me a lot to the times I was driving Defender.
Here in Germany we developed a water ingress manual to help members finding and fixing the problem with water in the trucks.

To me it looks like a good idea to do the same for the Grenadier!(y)

As I started to search in this Forum for informations I had to check various posts.

Lets start do develop a reading where members that get into the same situation can find answeres as a checklist.

So far I'm not ready to bring any contribution to it, because I did not find the place where water gets into my Grenadier

I would recommend that everybody who wants to make a contribution quotes, the post before (not the introduction:cool:) that the informations get updated permanently.

Thanks to everybody taking part in developing a WaterWiki!

Hello! I completely agree with your idea of creating a WaterWiki for the Grenadier. Water ingress can be tricky, and having a structured checklist like the one developed for Defenders in Germany would be incredibly useful for all members. Even if you haven’t found the source of the leak in your own Grenadier yet, sharing observations, photos, or any partial findings can help build a comprehensive resource over time.

I've got a chronic leak in my right side/passenger footwell, the dealer has addressed it a couple times. They've absolutely reduced the volume using copious amounts of sealer but have not stopped it. This is not from crossing rivers this is just driving in the rain. The dealer has traced it to the firewall around the cabin air filter and air intake. Started at about a pint sloshing around after a drive in the rain now just a shot-glass or two. Just one of the many "known issues" that makes my Gren the award winner of my "fleet" for the most visits to the dealer by far. I love the idea, loved the classic defender and it even reminds me of one of my other favorites, an '80's bronco... I really want to love it but its execution is so poor that its a garage queen, grocery getter nothing more. Not dependable or robust enough to compete with my wrangler or ram for real hard use in my world of remote construction jobs in hard to access areas.

Mine had 5 of the leaks -
These three were addressed by the dealer -
1. Safari Windows
2. Rear cargo area / crossbar flooded due to incorrectly installed rear seals
3. Water leaking in the rear side panels due to incorrectly installed grab bars (or something like that, it was not clear)
4. The toot horn became waterlogged (this has been an issue twice now)

The unaddressed one is the passenger footwell. From the last visit, the dealer had someone from corporate come try to fix it and the end result was "This needs an engineering fix and redesign, we will let you know when that is done. For now, don't turn your A/C on '4' while it is raining. And try to use recirculate."
