Top Gear New Ineos/Defender/LC/Jeep

I think the Jeep Rubicon and Grenadier with bigger tyres would have been perfect without the additional spend. Toyota was a shock offroad and would be a worry. I'm sure I read something else going on the front end, suspension or something?. Defender Octa is more fore the rally car part of the test.
Does the Toyota have a weakness? Would be a bit of a concern unless it was just used on road, or would it be a weakness after long term use?

Well worth a watch 👍

My wife spat her beer at the 170k Ineos.
I mean , she sometimes parks in my carpark, and that's only got a 2.2m limit.
So for her it's very impractical.
I wonder why they didn't toss a G wagen into the mix.

Interesting that he chose the Toyota as the one he liked best. I think without the half shaft busting it would be hard to argue with, but that’s where having an overbuilt driveline makes a difference.

  • Notice the Jeep steaming at the end.
  • There is no denying JLR knocked it out of the park with the new Defender. While it shouldn't carry the Defender name for the purists - but then again, lots of chatter about reliability long term.
  • Hard to agree with the Yota as the his best given he had to get winched off a trail the others made look easy.

(ND would have made a perfect Disco 6)

Exactly and at least in the States, the ND has all but killed the Disco 5 sales.
The D5 is such a joke and certainly didn’t deserve the Disco name. It’s like a weird station wagon blob.

Remember who owned them when the Disco 5 was created, not surprised. Hell the last full size iteration looked a lot like a Ford Flex
