GRENX OEM STYLE SEALED SNORKEL (ALUMINIUM)
Australian based GrenX has three models with both a sealed snorkel and sealed airbox. Forum post on GrenX snorkels is here.

The first is a sealed aluminium version that looks like the OEM Raised Air Intake, rather than a sealed snorkel. It is a bolt on replacement, requiring no cutting of panels. It is the most expensive of the three models. Fitting time is between 6 to 8 hours as panel need to be removed.

@AUGrenade has a DIY guide here for the GrenX OEM style sealed snorkel.

SEALED AIRBOXES
There is one aribox for petrol models and another for the diesel. They are not interchangeable.

The clear top on the airbox allows you to view the air filter without removing the lid. Regular inspections of the air filter in dusty conditions is much easier.

AIR FILTERS - PAPER AND FOAM FOR DIFFERENT USES
Rohan confirmed the 8 ply "paper" filter is for most use cases, like on road and dusty conditions. "Paper" filters are often made of Cellulose.

The thinner foam filter is for on road use, where an owner wants performance. It is not suitable for dusty conditions.

PRE-FILTERS ON GRENX SNORKEL
UNIFILTER has two filters; first a "snorkel ram head cover" that goes over the head of the OEM RAI - Part No: PRECLEAN 67. That filter is available now and can be used on the OEM RAI or the GrenX OEM Style Sealed Snorkel.

Second, a filter that will be used on the GrenX OEM replacement snorkel. That filter kit is currently under development.

These pre-filters reduce, but do not eliminate, dust into the airbox.

DONALDSON FILTER HEAD
INEOS also offer a Donaldson filter head accessory to reduce dust into the OEM RAI.

NON-SEALED SNORKELS/RAISED AIR INTAKE
D&G Europe

D&G has a Hi Flow Stainless Steel Snorkel for the IG and QM. Note: the description does not say it is sealed and no mention of a sealed airbox.

The opening of the snorkel faces upwards.

OEM
INEOS OEM Raised Air Intake (RAI) is not sealed either.

EURO FLO EXPEDITION
Euro Flo is working on a configurable snorkel here. No word on whether it is sealed. So assume it is not, unless told otherwise.

Concerning the pod filter differences noted on the GrenX website - The ( oil soaked? ) cloth based variant looks quite similar to a K&R RE-0920.

Personally I’d go with a multi-layered / oil soaked foam filter over this if you’re in a high dust environment. I suspect the cloth pod filter was intended to deliver increased airflow ( possibly more HP ) - likely at the cost of reduced filtration.

BTW in case it wasn’t already known - I believe the GrenX snorkel and airbox system is ( currently ) being manufactured by Canna Fabrication.

At this point the only fully sealed airbox and snorkel system ( outside of one off custom variants - there are a few on Facebook of all places ) is the one from Rohan at GrenX.

I received the custom D&G snorkel, but I haven't opened the box yet. I requested the installation instructions while the snorkel was being made. I plan to fashion a butyl rubber seal for the base of the unit. Will that suffice to seal the RIA, making it a complete snorkel system, or are there additional factors to consider from the snorkel to the airbox, and from there to the engine?

Be careful with oil soaked. Oil getting pulled into the turbo is no bueno.

How well sealed is the airbox? I suppose you could use Sikaflex to seal any seams. The other issue is a drain - either a plug ( screw ) or a ball valve for instance.

From looking a the airbox the oval outlet to the intermediate part under the wing looks very hard to seal.

Making the factory RAI and airbox into a real snorkel is like weaving your own climbing ropes.
It might work...sort of...or it might not.
Who wants to play chicken?

Agreed. I consider a fully sealed snorkel and airbox to be a useful CYA step. I don’t have any plan to exceed the specified waiting depth during a water crossing but I’d like to make sure everything is properly sealed in case the base of the intake is splashed or briefly submerged.

Water crossings bring on more water crossings; the bravado builds. Then one day you hit a pothole or a log pushes you off piste. 800 can go to 1200 in an instant.
What is your "risk appetite", to steal a coroprate buzzword?
