Haven't read anything about this here. Two weeks into ownership, now there is a train whistle sound a few seconds after I open a door and appear to be entering. Don't know what the vehicle is trying to tell me. Engine is off. Nothing seems wrong. WTF??

Just to eliminate them; with your engine and key OFF, try giving your hood a good drop slam. Check?
Give both rear doors a good slam. Check?
Failing that, try parking further away from a train line 😁

I have noticed this as well. It sounds like a motor of some sort is starting up. Since we dont have any information on the electronics to speak of it is really hard to tell what this is...

Never heard that in my car, not even with empty fuel tank :-(

Maybe it was the low fuel warning sound. It was pretty low until I filled today.
At either unlock or door open, there is a loud alert when the low fuel warning is showing yellow or red. I never thought of it as sounding like a train whistle, but it is a similar frequency.

Agree there is this annoying loud sound that comes out of no where and only lasts a moment with no repeat.

I've got a "teapot" boiing whistle with the interior fan motor - figured this was just a British thing 😂
