Europe Technical and Maintenance manuals

Solution
When will we have access to the 'before launch' "promised" maintenance and technical manuals?
Some of us are already owners since more than two years, and no access at all!
Obviously Lynn had an answer prepped for this, we warned the team that this was something that would get into the conversation regardless of how the upvoting went on the topics in this section of the forum.

I'm paraphrasing here but I'll pull the answer verbatim from the recordings later.

Access will start rolling out in the next 2 weeks. This will be granted by VIN, lowest vins will get access sooner until all vins are covered.

We followed up with the reason for that.

We built the manuals and parts system for dealer/agents use only. The system is essentially a manual one to set up each account. So we ask that when you are contacted about access that you only request it if you are really going to use it and not treat it as a nice to have.

The forum will have access and the intention is to provide some of the basic routine maintenance procedures here. When asked about the account of @Tom D being restricted a while back.

That was to do some maintenance on the system and the access is intended as a shake down account from the owner/user perspective.

Regarding price for access and how that would work.

Original and early adopters, basically everyone who has a Grenadier now will have access to the manuals database free of charge. Owners down the line we can't comment on right now.

Well there's hope at least, I believe Lynn was being honest but the proof of the pudding as they say.
Awesome thanks @Stu_Barnes, @Tom D, @Krabby for all your efforts.

Cheers
Steve

That is great news since us early NA owners got the software update after the newer trucks. lol

Thanks to all of the people involved here. Really looking forward to listening to the podcast.

Thanks for all your (and the forums) help with this. I have to wonder if any market research has been undertaken on the impact the workshop manuals or rather lack thereof have had on sales. Like many other early adopters, the promise of workshop manuals played a significant role in my decision to purchase an unknown product from a start-up vehicle company. Surely the vehicle would be far more attractive and confidence inspiring to prospective buyers now knowing manuals are readily available, particularly if you're remote travelling or far far from a dealership. BTW, a great vehicle.

I wonder if the pigeon will make it across Bass Strait to me?
When I did the survey with IA on Monday Harry the CSO thought we would start seeing the emails from Thursday (that's tomorrow on the mainland; day after on your colony island).
Of course I didn't mention that earlier because the naysayers would jump on it if it was even a day later 🙄.

I saw that . Given that Ogrid has his access I figure maybe I'm in the same time zone , dunno. But I was an early adopter , so feel ''entitled" as any Karen!

Linked to a signup form, were I provided details and VIN.

I’ve received no follow up confirmation email yet after entering the required information. Human probably involved on the other side to ‘automate’ the process.

Lynn said that the process was essentially manual with signing people up for manual access. I’m still going through the recordings we have but this topic will be the first one out the door.

I received the email yesterday- here’s what gets me - it says access was free for 12 months from the date of the email. Since when was there any discussion of charging us for access?! They promised it long ago - and I don’t recall anyone ever saying anything about having to pay.

A subscription model has been mentioned a few times. Hopefully a nominal figure rather than several hundred of our hard earned £€$.

Back in the day of promises, IA didn't promise not to charge for it after 12 months.
Your lawyers will reassure you this is the case ;)
