So, what about connecting the ribbon at the base. Was that easier?

exactly. Once you get to checkout a whole bunch of discounts stack on top of each other and it lands at $139. Part number to search for is on page 1 of this thread.https://autoparts.aubreyalexandertoyota.com/
It looks like the price will be more but once you put it in the cart and add all your shipping and payment info the net price is $139.
Score thanks. I purchased this as a backup just in case.https://autoparts.aubreyalexandertoyota.com/

@nuclearbeef would you mind sharing the part# for the Toyota transmission shifter @$200USD. I'm gonna order one and try it.
Just purchased as well.Score thanks. I purchased this as a backup just in case.
It is adaptable by swapping the trim but changing the trim requires removing the handle and then reassembling. Getting to the shifter assembly requires taking the console apart which took me an hour and a half, installing the shifter took 30 minutes and reassembly took an hour (values expressed are an old guy using hand tools outside in 100 degree heat). I am quite sure this work could be done in a shop by a kid using electric tools in lhalf the time.Just purchased as well.
Q: The Supra shifter works as-is (plug and play) except for the fit of the console trim?
So, if we could get the guy making the replacement console trim to create a version with an opening that fits the Supra shifter, it would be a bone simple, one banana job?
