Supra Shifter installed

On the topic of swapping out the gear shifter, does anyone know if the base of the Grenadier's shifter and the base of the Supra shifter have the same output? I may see about just swapping out the entire unit rather than hacking on and swapping the gear shifter portion itself. I'm concerned that the shifter itself has the same settings, but what the shifter innards sends to the transmission / computers etc. may differ between them.

They do not interchange.

I just ordered mine today from here, arriving in a week. There was a place to enter a VIN, but it was optional.

My experience was the same. I ordered mine Monday, June 9th and it is on the way and should be here Saturday the 14th or Monday the 16th. I paid $169 and change, with shipping it was $192 and change.

I am going to (try to) swap out the shifter knobs carefully (John with Owl canabilized his) and reassemble the Grenadier knob on the Supra selector and throw it up on ebay and see if a Supra owner wants a BMW style shifter. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm still trying to figure out why this is a thing. Why waste your time and money when the stock unit is perfectly fine and looks good. There's no performance boost. Color is the same. One has a square top edge and one has a slightly angled top edge? Big deal. Is everyone that influenced by John at Owl?
Why do people like art, and prefer a Picasso over a Renoir? It's an aesthetic thing, some don't care and isn't a thing, for others it is. Either way it's ok. Everyone has some things they'll spend on and take effort to change for no real performance benefit, whatever the area of living, just aesthetics. Everyone. For me, the original shifter isn't aesthetically pleasing with the form and shape of the Grenadier, it 'chafes', and I'm wiling to spend the money and effort to change it. I think it's really that simple. I'm not objecting to your view that the shifter is fine as it is for you, nor do I think you're criticizing. But generally, people do what makes them happy, and I'm happier with the Supra shifter shape, and doing so won't make me bankrupt, so ...

Kind of a funny comment given the nature of the Grenadier as a style forward niche car and the fact it's being voiced on an enthusiast forum innit?

I really prefer the supra shifter's looks personally. I also like that black finish to the aftermarket console more than I thought I would, I was always leaning to the gray.
