In my case it wasn’t the boot that failed first I understand. The vehicle was in for a service two weeks prior to the failure and nothing was picked up. It was only 300 to 400miles after that when the failure happened. The explanation from the dealer was that the C clip failed.

I only noticed my rip when I was manipulating it. I think when in situ the only way you can be sure boot is ok is with a good ol' feel rather than just visual. Especially if not rotating the shafts.

I'm still not certain what failed first on mine. Also with a working slip joint wonder what forces caused the splined end to exit it's housing when pulling slowly out of a junction, had the circlip just failed..?

Would the heavy corrugations encounted frequently on Australian out back roads excessively shorten CV life or boot life even at standard height?

Well then Ineos has a problem as the car should be build for these types of toads

Front or rear shaft? Airbag in rear would be a tough denial of warranty if it was a front shaft.

For your information, to record in your statistics, my front cardan shaft broke down in November 2025.

Built 3rd of January 2024
Trailmaster
Stock Suspension
Mileage 36,000km / 22,000 miles
20% Offroad
Front driveshaft replaced under warranty.

Additionally I have to tell you, that the car wasn't able to drive anymore, due to screaming noises and extreme vibration. Finally it was towed by a company. The Ineos Road Assistance didn't fit, which I think is pretty, pretty poor.....
At least they replaced the front drive shaft under warranty.

Just saw that my front driveshaft is on the fritz.

Mileage: 11,700
Lift: 1.5" Kings (for maybe 1,500 miles). Had it on the Eibach 2.5" for maybe 500 before swapping.
Shocks: Kings w/ adjusters
Failure: Boot ripped at the transfer case

I had no symptoms. Just saw it when I crawled under the vehicle after noticing a coolant leak. The suspension should have been installed with care given the shop is well known in my area and handles many Grenadiers. Had only taken it on a handful of offroading trips without any major obstacles. Rarely drive above 70 on the freeway.

No news on next steps, but I did buy a Terraflex joint. Im expecting the dealer to deny warranty.

Yeah, 10k miles seems to be the mark at which the boot fails.
