Deutsch DTP plugs

Thanks, I went shopping..!

Dealer says that there are three parts to the plastic roof port. Also bought the DTP loom (there are four variants, just in case anyone orders one using this part number).
@Rok_Dr

I OCRed these for you (thanks to CloudVisual). Not sure the difference between lines 3 and 4, description line must be shortened in the receipt.

Line 3 is a 25A rocker switch.
Line 4 is a 10A rocker switch

Interesting to note that the 10A is £5.50 more expensive than the 25A.

Well that makes sense (rolls eyes).

Extra information added to earlier post, thanks.

Many thanks Michael

Missed this post on the phone and now catching up after a few days away from the keyboard

I'll slip them into the next edition.

Cheers

Any South African members have a good source for DTP plugs?
Try autosports stores in SA, as they often carry DTP plugs.

Also try places like Mouser and RS.

The Deutsch DTP part numbers are in the first post of this thread.

Parts numbers are:
• DTP06-2S (male housing, female pins) with wedgelock (2S means two sockets for the DTP06 plug);
• DTP04-2P (female housing with male pins) with wedgelock (2P means two plugs for the DTP04 plug);
• 0460-204-12141 Pin Contacts (male) (pins only)
• 10462-203-12141 Socket Contacts (female) (sockets only)

Had looked at 4x4 Factory (as that is whom I got some Stedi lights from), but they only have limited quantities and was on the pricy side.

Updated links to US sources for Deutsch plugs.

Deutsch plugs (USA)
  1. Agile Offroad here;
  2. CustomConnectorKIts here;
  3. Deutsch Connector Store here.

Added to first post. This diagram shows stamped or open barrel pins and sockets. I prefer to use closed barrel pins and sockets (I explain why here). Both types work.

full

Steps
  1. Insert the crimped socket contact into the Plug Connector. Insert far enough so the sockets lock in place.
  2. Insert the Plug Wedgelock into the Plug Connector.
  3. Push Plug Wedgelock so it locks inside the Plug Connector.
  4. Ensure both positive and negative crimped sockets are inserted into the Plug Connector.
  5. Insert the crimped pin contact into the Receptacle Connector. Insert far enough so the pins lock in place.
  6. Insert the Receptacle Wedgelock into the Receptacle Connector.
  7. Push Receptacle Wedgelock so it locks inside the Receptacle Connector. You may need a Deutsch tool or flat screw driver to lock the Receptacle Wedgelock in place.
  8. Test fit the Plug Connector with the Receptacle Connector.
Tips
  1. The pins and sockets must be inserted and locked before inserting any wedgelock.
  2. The wedgelocks are different for each side of the Deutsch plug and between the different types of Deutsch plug (eg DTP wedgelocks do not fit DT or DTM plugs, etc.).
  3. The pins and sockets must be locked in place (see image here), not just inserted. A pin or socket must be unlocked before removal (after removing the wedgelock).
  4. The pins and sockets are different sizes between the DTP and DT plugs. A Size 12 Deutsch Crimper is needed for closed barrel DTP pins and sockets).
