This first post will be updated with a running tally of failed front drive CV joints for information purposes for the good of the community. Please do not use this thread to discuss causes, ideas, replacements, Fosters, or which tire width is preferred. There are other threads for that. If I’m missing an important data, please let me know.

If YOU have a failure, please add a post on this thread with the following information:
Year, model, stock or lifted suspension (if lifted, how much, and approximate mileage lift was installed), mileage at initial failure, did warranty cover repairs, and type of driving (ie, 20% heavy off road, all road miles, etc.), and type of failure.

Type of failure: Lubricant leaking from the end cap.
Mileage at failure: 13,000km / 8125 miles. Monitored then replaced at 21,000 km / 13,125 miles
Warranty: Yes

Roughly . 28k miles
complete cv joint failure caused I’m told by C-clip failure causing damage to gearbox, transfer box cable, oil pipelines and thermostat, heat shielding etc. . Ultimately new gearbox, transfer box cables etc .
This happened two weeks after a service at around 30mph On a tar road.
Repaired under warranty.

Daily driver with about 15 percent off road use including use that fully articulates suspension

Suspension lifted at around 10000kms and 295/75 tyres

CV transfer and diff boot failed at 56000kms a mixture of lots of HWY and Outback travel.

No warranty, well actually no interest from dealer, both failed 300kms after major service…
