Hello All,

Has anyone come across a company/person selling sill water tanks for the grenadier wagon.

I have installed the Long Range Automotive auxiliary fuel tank so have largely addressed fuel but need to sort out water.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

At one of the shows I attended, I saw someone with a tank that straddled the passenger floorboard (behind the front seats). I can't remember who made that. I remember thinking it would be a good location if you didn't have adults in the back row who needed that space for their feet. It was similar to this one by Front Runner (maybe it was this one?):

TANKS – WATER AND FUEL
  1. Expedition HQ has a selection of water, diesel and water tanks, fuel here and water here;
  2. DUNN & WATSON water tanks here;
  3. The generic Jerry can used for fuel and water is commonly available. They can be carried inside the car (water), on the roof rack or molle panels on the car;
  4. PAK Offroad has a water tank for the footwells in the rear, or a new roof rack mount with recovery tracks called the RACKTANK (unknown if the TUBTANK or Wheel arch tank can fit into the QM tub); (thanks to @globalgregors and @Rok_Dr);
  5. VAAST has range of water tanks that can be mounted on a roof rack, inside the car or on Molle Panels;
  6. ONTAP Portable Shower, Original here , Black Limited Edition here;
  7. BOAB Offroad has fuel and water tanks, look here; and
  8. ORS can fit stainless steel water tanks (including for the Grenadier, I have one installed), look here.

My fitout is described over at my blog here.

Here is the main post

Mine is a fitted water tank as part of a larger build. It is from Offroad Systems who have fitted out several Grenadiers.

Mine is a two seater, but they can do 5 as well.

Nice looking build

I will have to give them a ring to find out what options they do for 5 seaters.

Ideally I would like to find sill type options to keep storage space available whilst putting the weight low and towards the rear axle.

Just go to there website and select INEOS and you can see all the options. Plus ORS happily do custom work you want.

I tried that but could not see any water tanks show up on the 3 web pages that turn up :unsure:
Give them a call. The water tanks are matched to your car and needs. So it may not show under INEOS.

Mine was a 40 litre water tank that was generally fitted to a Prado. I had a spill tray built around the water tank, so any water leak did not end up in the battery box. I went installed water tank, @globalgregors went tank in the rear footwell.

ORS also make custom tanks.

ORS are happy to talk to you and do what you want. Some shops do not allow changes, ORS seem to welcome it.

Hi Zimonya,

I am developing sill tanks currently (prototype fitted under test), they are an integrated rock-slider type with a special feature that I can’t mention too much about. Do you have a minimum capacity that you are attempting to achieve?

I am in the UK, just so that you are aware.

Regards.

I’m watching this space as I’m interested in a water storage solution. I’m sorted with fuel also having had an LRA tank fitted. I’m interested to see what you come up with as i am sure some others on the forum are to. Keep us all informed.

I'm also interested but would like the solution to have a low center of gravity (i.e. not a roof-rack mounted option, but if yours are related to the rock sliders they should have a low CG). In my LC200 I had a removable aluminum tank that was contoured to fit behind the passenger seats and between the two wheel-arches - so it was snug and easy to secure with a pair of rachet straps. It held 80L (which was more than I ever used) and it had a tire-valve (Schrader) so I could give it a few PSI and water would come out of the hose (attached at the very lowest point on the Driver's side) when I had the valve open.

Sadly, it is about 10mm too wide to fit in the Grenadier.

I didn't use it for drinking water, just cleaning water.

Here’s a photo of that tank.

I am in a slight predicament as I am trying to protect my IP.
The jigs are made. The system picks up on all of the factory points, so it is a retro-fit system. I am currently driving around with it in different states of ‘water level’ to test for handling irregularities (none so far). Also testing for pressure bleed (none so far).
Where are you based Logsplitter, as I am happy to show you the system to get your feedback?
I will discuss with my working partner (filter manufacturer) on how best to proceed on here.
I have another system not related to water storage that I am very excited about but again trying to protect IP.
Bear with me!
