Just voluntary at the moment.
Let's hope they make it compulsory
From a layman’s point of view I would have thought this would help sales, if you could get it serviced or repaired at approved independent garages.

It would certainly take some of the stress/uncertainty out. I'm going to Carlisle for a tow bar.
 
I'm 16 thousand plus days overdue🙄.... a glitch apparently with the latest (......1946) s/w update. No combination of button pushing succeeded. Apparently it requires a smiling tech with an Ineos secret laptop to remove the spell.
This is good news in a roundabout way for me. I was concerned that there might be a limit to how long the overdue service warning would last before the car shut down or went into limp mode.

I read a comment here somewhere that the dealer can stretch the service reminder setting to 3 years. I'll follow that up in December. If someone can confirm it meanwhile I can ask with greater confidence 😁
