I wonder if i should upgrade my standard auxiliary battery with a Victron Lithium Battery Smart 12,8V. In 200 Ah it has the dimensions of 237 x 321 x 152mm. Will it fit? Has someone fitted one of these already? What's the maximum dimension that fits under the rear bench?

John from Agile Off Road has the Victron 200Ah in the OEM-ish location.

The Dakota Lithium 135Ah has plenty of extra room (laterally)

Do you have pictures?
Here's a photo of John's vehicle with the full Victron set up:

He also has a Multiplus 12/1200 where the factory inverter was that supplies 110v power and acts as a mains charger as well

My Grenadier came with a battery already installed in that location. I think it is an AGM battery. I was going to take it out and put in the Victron lithium battery. However, I think the winch also runs off of this battery. Is it OK to run the winch with a lithium battery? Does anyone know if the winch actually runs off the secondary battery?

Everything runs off the main. The secondary trickle charges the main.

I added a Wattcycle 314ah bluetooth mini battery. Its oversize and requires trimming of the front plastic cover but it does fit under the seat. I'm working on a bracket, may do a custom one at the shop to hold it down. Much cheaper than the Victron or wattcycle batteries and almost double the ah capacity but is does require a little bit of mods to squeeze it in there.

Looks like a good option. I would want to avoid trimming if possible. Would laying it down sideways be an option? Of course, the little fuse box would have to go somewhere else.

It barely fits in normally so sideways is not an option. I trimmed it last night and its not really that obvious unless you look under the seat.

Would you mind taking some photos?
Here you go. I put some tape over the gap and you barely notice it with the seat down. Its wedged in there pretty tight so its not going anywhere. I think its worth it to get 314ah vs the 100 or 150 ah in other batteries. We shall see when i start using it.

So now we pretty much know what the absolute max size is, albeit with a little trim here and there. Now I need to see if I can find anything remotely similar !!
