New Year Service Overdue Bug

Had the email this morning. Not in a rush to travel 3 hours there and back to the dealers. I thought they were going to push the update over the air to fix, last time I heard. I guess not now.

I’ve got mostly everything on the goodies list except the roof rack. But I never wanted a roof rack because of the inconvenience in getting into car parks with height restrictions.

To be honest, I would rather Ineos as a goodwill gesture give us a voucher towards the next servicing so we can all benefit instead.
Quite fancy the roof rack offer, it’s a fair deal and top kit from the OE ones I’ve seen.. I’m only 20 minutes away from my dealer so less of a faff in my case..

Sliders, steps, mats, seat covers, roof rack... whatever; ho hum.
If Ineos Automotive wanted to do something for owners in light of this overdue bug, they'd make available right now a factory authorized read/write OBD diagnostics tool. I'd take a discount on that.

I don't know how long the service light fix took, as I left it there for service and came back later. BUT, I had previously adjusted the steering stops and had to struggle into that extra angle without power assist until now. There's more to the fix as I have power steering all the way to the stops again, at the tighter turning angle.

Oh. And it doesn't bong when I start it any more. Thank goodness for that.

The logistics and stock availability of these goodies will be interesting. If everyone orders a roof rack, someone will be disappointed. What about the rest of the world? What are they getting? Have they thought this through? Can you remember waiting months for a picnic table at launch?

I was wondering the same thing. I guess IA know I own mine because I have access to the manuals but, having said that, they keep inviting me to have a test drive.

If I've heard nothing in a week or so I'll contact my dealer.

I get those invites as well!

Something about it not including fitting etc I guess the dealers will make their hourly rates getting these on.

I was over by my dealer today on other business and messaged the service advisor to see if I could get the scheduled maintenance bug addressed. Much to my surprise she said I could and it would take about 30 min. I stopped in at lunch and about 20 minutes later was on my way. Glad I checked even though I thought it was a long shot.

Seems the “fix” is a simple manual reset to the correct values. The consensus developing seems to be that Ineos do not think it will recur so don’t need to do a software update to fix it.

One last post by the unpaid expendable gopher.

Software fix for Australia just announced. Similar to UK but INEOS ANZ are extending free roadside service for 12 months for owners. A nice gesture.

However, I just took that out after it expired 2 weeks ago!

Nearest agent on the form for anyone in Tasmania is Ballarat, Victoria, well done INEOS. 👏👏👏

I have had no communication from ineos apart from their promotional stuff. If not for this forum "I know nothing" would be my motto

Yeah that sucks, no service option in Melbourne. Can I just get the roadside extension and live with the reminder?

Cupra Brighton now has four very new looking Grenadiers on their lot, three in a group out the front and one inside the showroom. I have not had a chance to stick my head in the door and ask what’s going down, but I reckon they will be taking on the dealership and hopefully the service.
