New Year Service Overdue Bug

I don’t like repeating myself, and I already stated that my wife owns a Toyota vehicle and we experienced a recent recall that took them almost 2 months to resolve and we were required to visit the dealer with no over the air update. I don’t know how this doesn’t make sense to you as to the comparison. It looks like you are just determined to express your dislike towards INEOS no matter how minuscule the issue is, it will be a huge one for you no matter what. If you dislike it and the company just get rid of it at this point.

I don't think Toyota and Ineos are on the same playing field here.... Toyota is not branding itself as a simplified auto putting the control back into the hands of the owner.... Your point "just get rid of it" is so funny, why would I? I really like it, but I'm also not worried about calling out my opinion of the short comings, you might not agree with them nor do you have too but that is very silly thing to say just get rid of it.....

SUMMARY
197 members and an additional 4 members with no alert (5 if you include some chap in Townsville). Tally stops at 200, only 2 spaces left (plus a fifth reserved for Max).

No change to first or last place. A photo is needed if you are claiming a new low or new high.

@Tenac I wonder if Lucid doesn't care about homologation. Or maybe they're only selling cars in the US so their regulatory environment is cleaner? Perhaps because their cars ARE computers that there is an army of programmers on site at all times?

And as the altimeter is concerned. I'm glad I have the compass and altimeter because that space looks wrong without it. No idea if it's accurate or not.

No they sell globally and have to adhere to the same rules and laws as others. I just thought it was impressive that they decided to sit down and talk with customers and provide details on processes and how long it will be to fix and what they plan to do. Ineos has done the same but for the software update which from what I've seen about two years to roll out as well. But there are other issues on there OEM front drive shafts breaking etc and screwy software I'd love to hear from them. I know they also openly talk about letting the aftermarket drive a lot of improvements and parts but they lock their software down tight so most we are getting right now is just bolt on stuff. Keep in mind Lucid also has about two years on Ineos as a new car company, plus they are all electric and I agree they have a more complex auto and probably have software developers to boot.

So how does it always come up with exactly the same, slightly low elevation for my driveway, every single time it’s there, despite wild swings in the local station pressure?

As far as hiding from GPS, most any garage will do. GPS signals have difficulty penetrating wood walls, let alone metal doors or concrete and brick.

Like I said, maybe it is GPS based (post 872). But the overall accuracy is not the issue it is out to be. And not sure how losing the GPS signal causes it to reset. Like many things Grenadier just another nonsensical item.

Not too add any work here to this thread but are we also tracking the ones that get resolved??? I remember one other person so far, mine is still in won't get it back till probably Thursday/Friday this week. Hoping too see it actually resolved and stay resolved with service reset.

Mine was resolved by the dealer and have been driving it for days without it coming back - was showing 2083 days before I went in

Scenario 1) Was your car showing service overdue prior to 1 January? In other words, was your car legitimately due for service and the overdue warning, in late December, was present and correct?

Scenario 2) Was your car within a normal service interval (no overdue warning) on 31 December? Did the overdue warning just pop up with ~2083 on 1 January?

If you are in the Scenario 2 camp, did your dealer mention anything about clearing the warning? Were they reluctant to do so, or did they just clear it? Did they offer any insights to this overdue bug situation? Thanks for offering a bit more info, here, appreciated.

My Grenadier was scheduled in for warranty service yesterday, and my service dept. has successfully reset my overdue notice.
The service manager didn't explain the details, and I didn't ask - But I imagine for the rest of Australia you may be able to get your agent to call Ballarat - Auto world / Ineos and get the cheat code.

Scenario 2 - warning showed up with 2081 or so on Jan 1. Emailed dealer and asked them to try to clear it when I brought it in. They didn’t hesitate to do so. The 2026 loaner didn’t have it either. No additional info but didn’t ask further once they said it was cleared.

This is Ineos's 'Scenario 1' to fix the current warning problem, because the service interval can only be updated by an Ineos dealer using the Ineos diagnostic system.

Which means currently, the only way to fix the problem is for everyone with the warning to take their car to an Ineos dealer, something Ineos is obviously trying to avoid.

They have supposedly been working on a solution for the service interval update for several years now - it doens't take that long, so they haven't been.

Don't hold your breath for any other solution than 'Scenario 1'.
