I apologize for this potential over-pursuit. I remain flummoxed by this Scenario 1 versus Scenario 2 statement from Ineos Automotive. I am too far from a dealer to help myself. If you live close to an Ineos dealer, have kept good service records on your car, and your Service overdue (way overdue) warning is on the display... a challenge -
1) Visit your dealer and request a Service overdue reset. Nothing more.
2) If they ask if you are due for service now, say, "Yes, look at my display. That's what it says. I'd like a reset to clear that message, please."
3) If they decline to clear your warning because you may not be legitimately due for service, please ask why. And tell us what they say.
4) Do not let them touch your car.
We're ALL Scenario 1, according to what my display shows. What happens if you are well under a proper service date and you get a reset anyway? Why is there a Scenario 2? Can any dealer address these questions? We'll stay in the dark while waiting for Ineos to explain things. Be forewarned, dealers may not be able to provide insight on this topic.
