New Year Service Overdue Bug

I imagine in the short term dealerships are working out the best sales pitch lines to adopt when asked about the service reminder oddity when taking prospective customers out on test drives.

This deal where Ineos tried to force us into dealer service, for $$$$$$, is gonna cost them dearly and be the death of the company.
I am guessing 1hr per vehicle to update software? That’s very costly

These fking idiots

Or are we the idiots? They may never release software fix and invite an influx of “existential” warranty charges from the service network.

Meanwhile we’ll all be pressing the trip button to dismiss. Love it! Just another quirk!!

It’s not that serious, it’s just a minor software bug that’ll get patched any day now 😜

They release the patch and incur warranty charge backs from the service network for yet another software update.. that was the point Zimm raised.

It has a potential cost footprint that is 100% of the fleet.

From a defect perspective. It’s a silly and embarrassing bug. But has tremendous cost potential to Ineos. Get it?

If they fold due to the cost associated with fixing this bug, we all suffer.

You do, but the dealer wants to hide that service date message.
So now i can claim plausible deniability of being 100% confused by service milestones...,Ineos can not deny warranty claim due to lapse in service. They told me to ignore the notification

Dammit. Just before New Year, we drove a total of 8hrs to/from Seattle with a goal of specific getting rid of the Service Overdue messages because self-service as well as get the latest software update (an all day process to update). Saw this thread so went to look and sure enough now says something like 1800 days overdue -- SIGH!!!

You love a fight eh? ;)
Life is a battle to be won at any cost?

I’m really hoping (unrealistically) that they’ll get smart and release a software update we can install ourselves through the USB port that will fix this, allow for future service resets, and turn off the stupid speed warning. I love this truck truly, but the software is horrible. I haven’t had my software updated to the latest fix because I’m 5 hours away from the closest dealer. This is a chance for them to enable the owner and save themselves a lot of money due to warranty claims and hours paid to dealers.
