New grenadier winch options

I have one on order as well - looks like it shipped yesterday. So install is probably in the same time frame.

What winches are ya’ll planning on with the lfd? I also have the winch tray sitting and waiting patiently in my garage

I have had no issues with GP Factor hidden 12K. Easy enough to spool up after cleaning if you take your time. I do wish there was more access to the spool....

We have to have a front license plate in CO. I see the GP Factor has a plate mount, but I don;’t see one for the LFD. I’m sure I could rig something up.

With the GP $500 off for Black Friday, I’m back to wondering about hidden versus open winches. I’m not planning on using it a lot. From the negative comments about hidden ones, I’m surprised that they are even offered…

Hidden winches aren’t inherently dangerous, they’re just not ideal. The upside to one (specifically for the Grenadier) is there is no loss of approach angle. All of the aftermarket trays need to stick out past the stock bumper (reducing approach angle), although admittedly it isn’t much. The main advantage of the accessible trays is the ability to more easily remove / replace / service a winch.

Coastal Offroad is offering a hidden winch mount that supports the Warn VR 12 with a full spool. 15% off for black friday right now. It may be a lower cost option compared to GP Factor. I'm still planning to use LFD to have the spool exposed.

Interesting... The link re-directed me to the AUSTRALIAN website, where it lists the winch mount for AUD$ 1240.80

Has anyone rigged up a front plate to the lfd winch tray?

Also just wondering if anyone has fitted the Warn Zeon 12-s to the LFD?

I just fitted a Zeon 10-S to the LFD. Works fine. I plan on doing a fuller write up at some point, but it was definitely fiddly 🤣

Im definitely interested, i have the lfd in my garage and i’ll be going with either the 10s or 12s

Has anyone fitted a Coastal Offroad Winch mount and if so what winch have you installed?

I'm personally not a huge fun of hidden from past experiences, so I went with signature autosports tray, for now. I'll eventually swap out bumpers, but i actually use a winch for work on a semi regular basis so i needed something asap. It did involve cutting with a grinder, but all in all, I'm happy with it. Ive since cut up some rubber tubing and added it to the cut section as "trim"

After having a Warn failure, I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a 12k winch for work. It never let me down, so I buy them all the time. I break or rather choose to drop a synthetic rope, but I've not had a catastrophic failure of winch. Case failure, sure, but when the guys f**k with the tray mount, who's really at fault. And they replaced under warranty, no questions asked.
