from the service manager. they wont warranty any repair with sign of wear from off-road. leading off-road event is a marketing activity. nothing to do with warranty claimsWhere are you getting that information? My dealer leads an off-road trail run once a month.
Seen all the excitement about the Defender OCTA?
Maybe Ineos should be considering a 600bhp Grenadier to sell at £160k as a range topping Halo model…
I recall an Ls. But For 160g usd it should get a flat plane zo6 lt6 drivetrain. No idea and I’m not sure I even knew the OCTA had a bmw lump.
Was it an LS (or LT?) that was in the Grenadier show car? I seem to remember it being an American V8.

Pretty sure the Octa is a V8, and not BMW either. No idea and I’m not sure I even knew the OCTA had a bmw lump.

the octa is bmw's tt4.4v8.Pretty sure the Octa is a V8, and not BMW either.
The car at Goodwood was as I understand, fitted with an LS
250hp/300tq+ is all one needs for a truck in this weight class to do labor. The high HP is just bragging rights and burring yourself in sand dunes in dubai.I had to look that up. Dig the naturally aspirated part. With the HP/torque peak so high in the rev range it would need a very deep low range to even pretend it was meant for use on the farm. I bet it would scream in the dunes though. Would it be enough to take the wind out of the Octa's sails? Hmmm.
I stand corrected. Thank you Zimmthe octa is bmw's tt4.4v8.
Well we are back to leaking oil from the turbo. Whatever the "fix" was it was short lived. Plus to top it off, a small stone strike on the weekend, about 1 inch from the lower left of the windscreen, has resulted in about 14" crack forming. Luckily insurance should cover that, but it is more the hassle. Just trying to get in touch with 4x4 Garage in Canberra can be tiresome. I feel they are winding down operations for Ineos during this transition period to whoever the new agent/dealer/service centre will be, so there appears to be a lack of urgency on their part.Grenadier spent the day in the workshop, requiring the banjo nut/bolt on the top of the turbo to be tightened. They tested and no more leak. Will keep a regular on eye on it for the next few weeks. Also had some seepage from under the power steering reservoir, where a washer had not been seated properly. That has now been rectified. So looks like a good result with no parts required. George is back in action.
I suspect that the banjo bolt was never the issue. Mine looked like it was leaking from there but it wasn’t. It was from where the rubber is crimped onto the metal higher up. It just runs down the heat shield and looks Luke its the banjo bolt.Well we are back to leaking oil from the turbo. Whatever the "fix" was it was short lived. Thanks Tom, I will mention that to the agent/mechanic. It has been booked in for repair (again), but this time the agent is ordering a new oil feed line, a couple of banjo bolts and washers in anticipation of them needing to be replaced. Unfortunately it is a 2 week wait, which seems to be the minimum wait these days for most mechanics. I am lucky to have a local agent, but do wish Ineos would make it simpler for others to come on board and work on our trucks. The service manager is wrong or you are having a failure to communicate. They certainly won’t warranty anything that you damage off road. Say you drop the rear driveshaft on a rock and bend it. That’s on you but if the CV boot tears then that is a warranty item unless you have lifted the truck. Perhaps thar is what the service manager is trying to say.from the service manager. they wont warranty any repair with sign of wear from off-road. leading off-road event is a marketing activity. nothing to do with warranty claims
Certain events would be classified as wear and tear rather than failure. Thus not covered. The service manager is wrong or you are having a failure to communicate.
