Letter to Lynne Calder

So I just had my ADAS software update…Will see how it goes but…

I had an update awhile back where I had the ability to change distance to km. After the ADAS update that is now gone! I can change all the other items but Distance is now not an option…this needs to be fixed! Not sure why it was removed…INEOS needs to overhaul their software team

Seen all the excitement about the Defender OCTA?

Maybe Ineos should be considering a 600bhp Grenadier to sell at £160k as a range topping Halo model…

Ignoring for the moment all the hoops IA would have to jump through to get a V8 model on the road...

Which engine? The Octa is running a BMW powertrain so would that be an option at all?

No idea and I’m not sure I even knew the OCTA had a bmw lump.

Was it an LS (or LT?) that was in the Grenadier show car? I seem to remember it being an American V8.

I recall an Ls. But For 160g usd it should get a flat plane zo6 lt6 drivetrain.

I had to look that up. Dig the naturally aspirated part. With the HP/torque peak so high in the rev range it would need a very deep low range to even pretend it was meant for use on the farm. I bet it would scream in the dunes though. Would it be enough to take the wind out of the Octa's sails? Hmmm.

Pretty sure the Octa is a V8, and not BMW either.
The car at Goodwood was as I understand, fitted with an LS

250hp/300tq+ is all one needs for a truck in this weight class to do labor. The high HP is just bragging rights and burring yourself in sand dunes in dubai.
