What about the Jaguar I-Pace? and isn't there an Electric Range Rover Sport?
+4
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has delayed the launch of its electric Range Rover and Jaguar models to allow for more testing and a potential increase in market demand, with customer deliveries now expected in 2026. This delay also comes as the company grapples with a recent "severe cyberattack" that has disrupted global operations and production.
Reasons for the Delay
Extended Testing:
JLR stated that the models, being its first electric vehicles, require more extensive testing before launch.
Market Demand:
The company also indicated a desire to allow for an increase in overall market demand for luxury EVs.
Cyberattack:
A significant "cyber incident" has severely disrupted JLR's retail and production activities, including the shutting down of the Solihull plant where the Range Rover is built.
Impact of the Delay
Customers:
Deliveries of the electric Range Rover, originally planned for late 2025, will now begin next year.
Production:
At least four different electric models are affected by the delay, with some reports suggesting the first Jaguar EV could start production in August 2026.
Other Challenges for JLR
Tariffs:
The company also faced challenges from new tariffs on cars imported into the US, which led to a temporary pause in shipments to the market.
Market Conditions:
JLR has faced slower sales in China, where consumers are increasingly favoring local brands.
Cost-Cutting Measures:
In response to these issues, JLR announced plans to cut 500 management positions.

Wait, what? You mean there’s not some pent up market demand for their EVS already? I guess we might need some government official to force the market to buy them because the market is not always right. /s

Today, the French Magazine "l'Automobile" published the following article:

In short, Ineos Automotive won a French public call for tenders of 160 million euros emergency vehicles (Grenadiers and Quartermasters) corresponding to about 1700 cars!

I see dark sky's ahead for INEOS. They must get ahead of the poor sales. They should bring in BMW as a partner. They are much more experienced in every aspect of the Industry.
INEOS needs to get a partner like BMW since everything is BMW, before it loses its financial stability. INEOS is in trouble and selling off pieces like Bellstaff. I read they are selling some of their petrochemical businesses. BMW has all the service Dealerships up and running all over the world. Here in the USA it would be great for services and warranty work. Why are the EU stats kept confidential? Trucks are not moving.

Info Provided 9/4/2025 cGPT.

Ineos Automotive does not publicly disclose exact sales figures for the Grenadier by region. However, some third-party insights and registration data provide useful context on how many units may have been sold so far in 2025 in the EU and the U.S.:

United States

Based on a report referencing Automotive News via Jalopnik, Ineos stated that U.S. deliveries in the first half of 2025 increased 2% compared to the same period in 2024. However, total registrations fell 14%, totaling 2,268 vehicles in those six months Jalopnik.
From that, we can reasonably infer:

  • U.S. Grenadier registrations in H1 2025: approximately 2,268 units.

  • Information for the second half of 2025 is not yet publicly available.

European Union

Ineos does not publish EU-wide breakdowns of its sales. However, available data shows:

  • In Germany, since market launch in 2023 up to the most recent data, a total of 1,450 Grenadiers were newly registered Wikipedia.
  • Notably, that's a cumulative total — covering 2023, 2024, and parts of 2025. The breakdown per year or for just 2025 is not provided.

Summary Table

RegionAvailable Data for 2025
USA~2,268 registrations in H1 2025 (approximate)
EU (Germany)1,450 total registrations since launch (through part of 2025)
Other EU countriesNo reliable region-wide sales data published These numbers suck. If I worked there I would be nervous.

AI interpretation of the French deal with Ineos

  • Contract type & value: It’s a framework contract via UGAP (France’s central public purchasing agency) with a ceiling of €160 million. Frameworks set a max value and enable eligible public agencies to order vehicles without running their own tenders.
  • Who can buy under it: French emergency and public services (notably the fire & rescue “SDIS” departments; reporting also mentions potential gendarmerie use) can order INEOS Grenadier and Grenadier Quartermaster (double-cab) under this framework.
  • Indicative volume: Local coverage says around 1,700 vehicles could be supplied if the framework is fully used. (That’s an estimate tied to the €160m ceiling, not a single fixed order.)
  • First orders already placed: Initial purchases (Utility Wagon and Quartermaster pick-up) have reportedly been made by the SDIS of Aisne (02), Saône-et-Loire (71) and Moselle (57).
  • Built in France: The vehicles are produced at INEOS Automotive’s Hambach plant in Moselle, which resumed output in January 2025 after a short supplier-related pause.

What this means

  • It’s “huge” in headline value (€160m) but structured as a multi-year, call-off framework: agencies order as needed; the ceiling may or may not be fully used.
  • Expect to see Grenadiers and Quartermasters in French emergency fleets, with fire services already moving first.
