Most likely.. My 92 is there right now, just for its routine checkup, and a few things that he was able to spot.

I had a ‘94 and wish I never sold it. I sold it to my mechanic for $2,500 with a blown head gasket.

I know this is not a Toyota forum, but proper Defender 90 aside, the best looking 4-door wagon/SUV is the 80. Not only does it look great, I think it's the perfect blend of strength and comfort - the 60s/70s may be heavier duty and the 100s+ cushier and more modern in its trim - but the 80s make for a fantastic, albeit a bit under powered, balance.

Yea, I used to think that, then I slapped 35’s with a 1”lift, and protection on a 100, and hammered it for a decade. It is soooooo much better built than an 80, never had any comparative difficulty wheeling with the ifs, and the comfort was night and day. I see manual 100’s once in a while… and it think hmmmmmm….

I had a triple-locked Poverty Pack 80, I loved that rig. I miss it at times, but this Grenadier is better in most every way. I can't stand the bulbous flares on the 80's, so it was a poverty pack or bust, and I was lucky enough to find a clean one here in the States back in 2015.

Panzer was our second Doberman, and he loved riding around in that Cruiser. He just passed last month; we miss him dearly. On a positive note, those mid-90s Toyota cloth seats were killer, so retro.

I had a triple-locked Poverty Pack 80, I loved that rig. I miss it at times, but this Grenadier is better in most every way. I can't stand the bulbous flares on the 80's, so it was a poverty pack or bust, and I was lucky enough to find a clean one here in the States back in 2015.

That would of been a mid spec in Australia. Our poverty pack had vinyl trim, barn doors, 16x5.5 split rims, 1HZ engine, part time 4x4 and 5 speed manual transmission.

They’re all rusty AF here in UK. I looked at various 80’s and 100’s a few years ago, they were all rotten

In the UK they are either ridiculously expensive, dissolving or "Not sold here".
A used Grenadier becomes an easy choice.

I’ve had 3 80-series and my wife currently drives a 100-series. Miss the 80s, but the Grenny is much more comfy on a long, hot summer road-trip.

White 95: triple locked, cloth, over 360k miles
CE 97: triple locked, over 260k miles
Blue 97: rebuilt motor had 306k when I sold it in ‘24. Was my daily driver for 5+ years. Miss that rig!
Silver ‘03: 258k miles, fully stock, super comfy

Yes, that is a Collector’s Edition with triple locking axles.

I just hope the Grenadier lives up to the Land Cruiser’s legendary reliability.

I think we all do, but if I were a betting man, it won't be the case, as those are mighty big shoes to fill. That said, I'll remain optimistic and hope for the best.
