Anyone else missing a darker, optional black interior roof trim? In a 4x4, Overlander in my use, I struggle very much with the all too bright interior trim regarding pollution. Too bad that there are no options here. Inquiries on this matter always remained unanswered by INEOS.

This is a bit disappointing. I can't figure out who prefers light colored roof trim in vehicles and why.

Beyond just being easier to see out, light roof trim get stained and marked up pretty easy compared to black/charcoal.

I prefer the lighter trim personally. I don't like being in dark interiors, feel it makes them claustrophobic.

Don't know how many vehicles have configurable headlining colour? my mates new Hilux invincible x has black headlining but i don't know whether he specced it or theyre all like that now

Yes, I thought the same. Lighter roof tends to show up scuffs! I would prefer darker too.

That is just like saying dark carpet is better than light carpet because it doesn't get as dirty.
They both get exactly the same except one you can see and have to clean.

It makes no difference.
We have wooden floors throughout our house and a visitor said to us they would replace them with carpet because wooden floors get too dusty.
The same amount of dust falls on the carpet
Just on wood you can see it and so vacuum your floor more often
Same reason why you shower every day

I have wood floors throughout the house too for the same reason. Carpets get disgusting, rugs are easier to clean or throw away and replace. That why I really like the option for the rubber flooring with carpeted floor mat inserts in the Grenadier.

As for light vs dark headliner, I wear jeans or darker brown/kaki pants and generally darker blue, green, or greyish shirts. Why? Not because I don't wash my clothes, but because any white shirt or light khakis I have ever owned seems to have gotten permentanly stained within the first or send wear. At least with clothes, they are easy and relatively cheap to replace, not so much with a headliner.

I think light interior looks bigger, more aerial and less depressive. Of course, light color reflects more light. Panzers' interior is fair too.

A dark interior gets hotter in the summer. My W203 has a light gray interior, both the seats (leather) and the dashboard and other surfaces. It is significantly less hot than our SLK, which is completely black inside, leather as well.

A dark(er) headliner tends to create a "pillbox" effect where the driver senses a lower roof line above their head and sharper focus through the windshield. Moreover, as the rear passenger seats are raised compared to the front seats - rear passengers would probably prefer a lighter colour.

What was that about "hosing down" the inside?

Black leather is the worst for that and might be the biggest culprit, have had it in multiple cars, and 75% of the year (hot AND cold) it sucks at startup. My Gti has the black cloth seats (and rest of interior trim and headliner) and in the heat of summer it is certainly cooler than my wife's outback with black leather and beige headliner. Happy with the grey heated cloth seats insert option on the Grenadier. I just think my eyes prefer the pill box effect referenced above, especially driving at night.

I hate black interiors - they make for a gloomy and hot environment. When purchasing my last drive a black interior was a deal breaker. I was able to get a beige interior but on a black car - never again will I get a dark vehicle. If you live in a warmer climate black is a good lookimg but bad thermal choice.

But, that's just my personal taste.

I agree. Gloomy and hot - that's a bit like hell I'm led to believe.
We just traded a GLC Benz with a nice light bone interior on a Volvo with black interior. But there was no choice with the latter.

I like half and half, just keep me in the middle. Seriously, when wearing sunglasses it is easier to see outside with a lite colored head liner. I have brown dogs and the wife has an XC90 with white-ish interior. no idea what it is called, it is off white leather. So far it is still clean.
