Handgun Mount Location (US Drivers, LHD)

I was just sticking it between the seat and the center console, was pretty secure and easy to get to. But I ended up getting one of these and while not a perfect solution, it works well (I didn't originally buy this for pistol storage).

How secure is that setup?

I just stick a small towel around mine and put it in the door pocket but it is not a big pistol by any means.

Yes, that is what I have been doing as well, but I would prefer something better so I am on the search now. All great suggestions. Thanks all.

It's not theftproof or anything like that, but I can open my door and and people can't tell there's a pistol in there. I typically leave the latch undone so I can access it quickly if needed. Depending on the day I'm either carrying a Staccato CS or a S&W Bodyguard 2.0, so neither is very large.

I've never been able to find a way to carry on my person while driving that was comfortable enough to do more than a 10 min drive.

Small stubby, handle forward (reversed), inside right ankle. You’re welcome.

Might be time to channel our inner Sonny Crocket and break out the miami vice look shoulder holsters

Consensus online seems to be

If right handed then cross draw holster plus an ankle as alternative - or both.

If left handed then centre console mount plus an ankle holster backup

Any of those will allow a 2 second response time.

Most others will take longer. Passenger glove box for instance is 3-4 seconds and makes you have to look away.
