If you read the makers comments, you know what we know. You will likely have to service it at some point, but sudden failure seems off the table. So can someone confirm that both shafts discussed in this thread do NOT suffer from the harmonic vibrations in the manner the AO shaft does? What’s the downside of these two shafts?
Why service when you can sell a new part €€€$$$£££I’d like to add, if youve ever had to service the shaft that goes between the Gwagon transmission and the divorced t case, this really isnt any different, just one hell of a lot easier to get to, for MF’n sure. You wanna talk about German engineers telling you to go f**k yourself for servicing a wearable part….
The English are guilty too.. Jag XKR had a coolant leak, hose was $30, installation was $900 as you have to disassemble 1/2 the engine to get to the hose. You wanna talk about German engineers...

We have a 40mm Letech lift on our QM => we check before every drive.I don't mind having to service the thing periodically. I just don't want the sudden failures that some folks have been having. Plus if these new shafts allow a slight lift, even better!
I don't think there is anyone who has yet put this kind of mileage on Sven's shaft, either the original twin double cardan or the new Rzeppa Double Cardan. This thread has gotten long. Has anyone other than Sven installed and run this for 20,000+ miles? After five Rzeppas and now the Agile, I'm not ready to spend another couple thousand on a "pretty good" solution. No offense to Sven. I really appreciate anyone working on a solution. At 1.7" lift, I am running through joints every 8,000 miles, which for me is only 8-9 weeks. If I don't find a real solution by the end of June (a major trip is scheduled), I will have no choice but to get rid of the truck I love.
Yeah, I totally understand. I just got a new front prop shaft installed and my 1.7 lift removed. If it fails again I'm afraid I'll have to look at something more reliable. This thread has gotten long. Any videos on how to reduce the caster?I don't think there is anyone who has yet put this kind of mileage on Sven's shaft, either the original twin double cardan or the new Rzeppa Double Cardan.
While we wait for owner feedback on Sven's shaft and the forthcoming shaft from Dokatd you might be able to get a bit longer life out of your Rzeppa joints by reducing caster. I adjusted my lower control arms to be as short as possible using the cam bolts. My caster is now under 1° which reduces stress on the problem Rzeppa and the steering feel is little changed from the prior 2.5°.
I don't have a video, but you want the cam bolts to be in this position on both the driver and passenger sides. This shortens the effective length of the lower control arms as much as possible and reduces caster. I honestly cannot tell the difference in steering since doing this. It might be best to have it done as part of an alignment which is I what I did. I told them to max out the cam bolts while keeping everything else in spec. My caster is right at .9° now.Any videos on how to reduce the caster?
Too many soft bellies here.He just came out with the product.
The thread is long, but maybe read it.
Christ.
I long for the days of PIRATE where nudnic crushing was a sport.
I did. That's how I knew it was long. I didn't see the answer I was looking for so I asked. I thought that was what a forum was for.He just came out with the product.
