Fender / checker plate question

I need to read the full 18 pages.....so this may have been covered. Why not just put down PPF and then VHB the plates? If you using the OEM plates with recessed holes, I'd just the heads off rivets or button heads and epoxy them in for the look. Trying to avoid drilling.
 
There is no reason to drill and use rivets other than preference. PPF and then attaching the plates with VHB is ideal, No holes in the fender, solid mounting and fully reversible. The GP Factor plates are perfect for this because they don't have any mounting holes.
