Check Engine Light (after fueling, there’s a software fix)

I just experienced this today. Not happy about it. Right after refueling the check engine light is now on.

FWIW, after I cleared the code (OBDLink mx) it has not come back on, which is good and strange at the same time because i’ve not changed the way I fill up

Genuine question. Why does this only affect US vehicles? What’s different?

Pump speeds? Do we have faster flow pumps? After having the CEL a couple times, I now stop at the first shut off, however I was at a station with a faster flow in the pump, did my usual and didn’t try to squeeze more in and I got a CEL.

I have gotten the fuel CEL a few times. It easily clears with a generic OBD2 reader. That said I had the update done a couple weeks ago and it seems I no longer have the problem. So the update works in my case. I do keep my scanner with me at all times though.
