Brown Davis or Long Range Automotive?

Those comments might have been towards the Diesel LRA tank. I've noticed zero difference with the rear muffler removal on the Diesel for the LRA tank.
The in-line muffler that is shown on the website is different than what was delivered. I believe they are different in the USA from AUS. That could be the differnece.

Interesting, maybe a running change or maybe a difference in local regulations.

It would also hurt to replace parts of the exhaust with coated steel whereas the OEM exhaust is all stainless. So not just the sound to consider.

Hi all - I installed the LRA tank on my Grenadier and just completed a 10,000km journey to the Arctic Ocean and back from Vancouver. While the installation had a couple of installer issues, once I got things sorted it was excellent. Made a big difference, especially in the far north. Way less range anxiety and great to have the petrol down low between the frame rails.

Just an observation today about the LRA tank. I have a stock Trialmaster, stock springs. When filling the tank the rear of the Grenadier settles ½" at the rear wheel well, ¾" at the trailer hitch. Not bad, worth the extra range.
Totally agree. With the RTT and drawers, I ended up putting on heavier springs and upgraded shocks to offset the sag. Made a big difference.

I’ve had the LRA 90L petrol tank fitted and have upgraded the springs to Ineos black mark spec springs, plus airbags in the rear springs. Lifting roof conversion, awning and under guard protection also add a bit of weight.

The OEM back mark springs plus airbags are the perfect spec in my opinion. Officially no lift, and you can dial in the spring rate to match the payload as needed.

I've had mine installed for 3 weeks now. A few observations:

1. Install with remote reservoir shocks requires moving the reservoir.
2. Placement of exhaust is key. Proper spacing from tank, axle bolt and linkage. Instructions are clear just have to be sure and follow to the tee
3. Had a couple of friends having engine temp climbing to 240/50 ish under load at altitude. Bored out resonator to 1 1/4" hole to help with back pressure (frankly not sure if that's the cause or not) Talked to LRA not a widespread condition. Still have temp climb @6k feet and above, pulling 4100# trailer above 4k rpm. Happened three times to me. Comes right back. Debating on removing resonator or fitting a custom one. Has not happened running empty for me but I haven't been at altitude empty. Have done hard pulls at 750ft with no issues.
4. Exhaust note is wonderful...I heard it before the resonator was bored out and it was good as well. The additional diameter is even better.
5. Fuel transfer is easy but slow. Do it early. I did get the upgraded pump.
6. Duel neck is easy to use. Back is aux, forward is OEM.
7. Since I have drawers, Fridge and all the recovery gear I am running 500# eibach springs. I added bags just because.
8. Ride is still compliant with tank.
