Brown Davis or Long Range Automotive?

Those comments might have been towards the Diesel LRA tank. I've noticed zero difference with the rear muffler removal on the Diesel for the LRA tank.
The in-line muffler that is shown on the website is different than what was delivered. I believe they are different in the USA from AUS. That could be the differnece.

Interesting, maybe a running change or maybe a difference in local regulations.

It would also hurt to replace parts of the exhaust with coated steel whereas the OEM exhaust is all stainless. So not just the sound to consider.
 
Hi all - I installed the LRA tank on my Grenadier and just completed a 10,000km journey to the Arctic Ocean and back from Vancouver. While the installation had a couple of installer issues, once I got things sorted it was excellent. Made a big difference, especially in the far north. Way less range anxiety and great to have the petrol down low between the frame rails.
 
Just an observation today about the LRA tank. I have a stock Trialmaster, stock springs. When filling the tank the rear of the Grenadier settles ½" at the rear wheel well, ¾" at the trailer hitch. Not bad, worth the extra range.
Totally agree. With the RTT and drawers, I ended up putting on heavier springs and upgraded shocks to offset the sag. Made a big difference.
 
I’ve had the LRA 90L petrol tank fitted and have upgraded the springs to Ineos black mark spec springs, plus airbags in the rear springs. Lifting roof conversion, awning and under guard protection also add a bit of weight.

The OEM back mark springs plus airbags are the perfect spec in my opinion. Officially no lift, and you can dial in the spring rate to match the payload as needed.
