AO now offers Jumper Cables with 50 mm² NATO Plug

I figure this is the best place to put this. I already had a set of plug in jumper cables. I 3d printed a plug so i could move them from the back to the front. this was done purely for the "cool factor" and has no real practical use other than practicing my use of Fusion and my 3D printer

What’s the point of this? Eagerly jump starting other vehicles, via the NATO plug? Then you need another set of cables to jump start the grenadier?

I just keep a GooLoo GT4000S box charged in the car. It has plenty juice to jump start anything many times over, I can charge it in the car while driving if needed, it holds charge for a very long time, and it’s small and stores easily in the car. What advantage do cables have over a nice jump box these days? Safer, smaller, lighter….

Somebody made a good point in another thread about this subject that the NATO socket is only 350A - not a lot of boost for jumping another vehicle

I think you guys are totally overlooking how cool it would be to, leave the hood closed, whip this thing out, and tell people it is a NATO plug and jump their dead vehicle….

In the video, he covers how he has female NATO plug with clamps so you can have a set of clamp-to-clamp standard cables. I really haven’t looked, but he shows the standard clamp posts under hood and those seem pretty easy to use.

But you don’t get to say “NATO plug”…

ETA: it is kind of interesting that a good set of jumper cables is about as much as one of those rechargers…
