AO now offers Jumper Cables with 50 mm² NATO Plug

What’s the point of this? Eagerly jump starting other vehicles, via the NATO plug? Then you need another set of cables to jump start the grenadier?

I just keep a GooLoo GT4000S box charged in the car. It has plenty juice to jump start anything many times over, I can charge it in the car while driving if needed, it holds charge for a very long time, and it’s small and stores easily in the car. What advantage do cables have over a nice jump box these days? Safer, smaller, lighter….🤷🤷🤷

Somebody made a good point in another thread about this subject that the NATO socket is only 350A - not a lot of boost for jumping another vehicle

I think you guys are totally overlooking how cool it would be to, leave the hood closed, whip this thing out, and tell people it is a NATO plug and jump their dead vehicle….

In the video, he covers how he has female NATO plug with clamps so you can have a set of clamp-to-clamp standard cables. I really haven’t looked, but he shows the standard clamp posts under hood and those seem pretty easy to use.

But you don’t get to say “NATO plug”…

ETA: it is kind of interesting that a good set of jumper cables is about as much as one of those rechargers…
