Alu-Cab Roof Conversion Build Out Ideas

It doesn't look like the roof conversion can take the AluCab 270 awning.

They may become a throwaway option but you still have 3-4 inches more headroom there.
Hello, I’m new. I will hit the intro later but I’m doing research right now and you are saying that with the windows I was not planning to purchase you actually get more headroom? I know this is not the thread for that question and obviously I have not finished reading the thread. I will do that momentarily. But the conversion has put a few more percentage towards my decision to purchase whether this year or next spring. I definitely need all the headroom I can get.

Slightly more headroom, maybe. Certainly no less. The safari windows also deliver the potential for more storage space for sunglasses, gloves, etc. (Aftermarket shelf options.) Which, BTW, do *not* reduce the headroom. And, FWIW, I've yet to bump my head on those molle shelves despite vigorously leaping in and out of the cab and I was worried about that.

which panels are those? They look great!

Thank you to everyone in this particular thread. It was very enlightening especially all the videos. Is there any word about @alucab on the quartermaster? I am close to making a decision but now must decide between which flavor Ineos along with should I convert to this company…

thank you for the reply especially The very clear photo it is very informative and brings up many questions not related to this thread. I'm going to need an appointment for a test drive. I do love those shelves and my only concern for height is above the headrest depending on where my seat lines up that crossmember may be a problem.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the hatch? I called OK4wd and they said they didn't have dimensions

Only looking for the pass “hatch” dimensions. I checked the website and it only had the bed dimensions and the outer shell

If you mean the size of the opening inside the vehicle it starts at the rib behind the overhead panel and goes back to the rib where the upper rear door latch is located. This is not exact but it could be measured to within a couple of inches.

The width of the hatch matches the width of the mattress. I spent a lot of time inside OK4wd's Grenadier with the Alucab conversion at Expo West in Flagstaff. It feels very spacious, more so than you would think possible given the size of the Grenadier.

The front portion of the mattress was also long enough for me to sleep without lowering the smaller hatch near the rear door; I am 5' 10". I would likely remove the smaller section for reduced weight and to make the interior even cleaner. But if you are 6' the smaller hatch would likely be needed to sleep comfortably.

That's good info. Thanks. I'm 6'3"
