ADAS Update? Is this really happening?

It's odd that the upgrade version that will take the least amount of time to apply is taking longer to release.

I am repeating myself here, but what exactly are the differences between the 24.1, 24.2, 24.3 builds etc. Far as I can tell no one has detailed the differences here on the forum. And how does one determine which build you have? My VIN is 10764 which is for sure 24.1, same as Dokatd who also has a low VIN. But for other owners with the higher VINs how do you actually determine which build you have?

Here's my take on this... The MY24.2+ update also includes a fix to a problem (the fuel level implausibility code that causes the CEL after getting fuel), where as MY24.1 has had that fix available for months, and the ADAS related stuff is just a convenience update. It would seem to me that it is important to prioritize fixing problems before annoyances.

The part that makes a difference for this update (and previous ones) is that the infotainment/headunit has different hardware in the MY24.2 and newer (just like, from what I'm told MY24.1 has different hardware than all the various MY23 variants). There are a few other changes (like one of the transfer case shifter cables has heat shielding on the newer models), but nothing drastic.

I picked my Grenadier up from Rusnak service today. Eden there was great to work with. While it was in for a windshield replacement they installed the software update that we have all been waiting for. I'm happy to say that it does allow you to turn the over speed warning off and it permanently remembers that it is off. No more over speed clicking for me! I turned off ALL ADAS warnings and the dash light illuminate like they always have. I haven't checked to see if they will stay off permanently because I find the lights more annoying than the lane departure clicking. I can live with the lane departure clicks.

What else do ya'll what me to check on this new firmware version?

Lastly, Eden said that the update does in fact take 5 hours! At most she said they can update 2 cars a day and it is going to be a challenge if everyone in LA storms the gate hoping to get the update done. Their shop manager is coming at 7 am to do these. I hope everyone can find some peace knowing that the over speed warning fix in actually out with the older cars to get the release soon. At least there is light at the end of that tunnel and it's nice to see that Lynn is living up to the promises that she has made.

I was under impression that the dash lights wouldn't activate when ADAS was turned off permanently.😡

I was hoping that was the case but it isn't. The "camera" light still comes on when you turn off the lane departure and the other ones come on when you turn off the other silly ADAS "features". Just the same, I'll take the HUGE win on making the ludicrous over speed clicking stay off.

No the ADAS functionality does not change at all, the only difference is that it remembers the setting you leave it in.

If you disable all ADAS functions, or the lane warning, you'll still get the icon on the telltale cluster

I am 24.1. VIN 10608.

Pinion seals and door locks getting addressed under warranty. Hoping 24.1 is out by Thursday next week 😛

Maybe I’ll change my plate to include 24.1 :)

How is it 2025 and it takes 5 hours to update some software on a vehicle! Lol. I can update the Jeppesen approach charts on my ipad every month (about 2Gb of data) over wifi in no more than 6-9 minutes on my Ipad....

Either way I am happy to hear the issue is resolved...but rather annoying I'm just going to have to wait till my rig is ready for its 10K service appointment to get it installed. No way I'm wasting a day at the dealer just for the update.
