Dear team, we had the discussion on Dashcams and electronics already. I searched all forums on topics on headliner removal or how to route cabling from front to rear between roof and headliner. Did anyone of you do this already and will direct me to the respective article here. At the moment I am a bit confused on how to direct cable and perhaps a spare tube along the roof to the rear. What I intend to do is install additional lighting (red / green / low light and dash cam cables of...
Thread 'USA 7 Pin Round Brake Controller Wiring'
Exhausted searching for this, so if I missed it let me know. USA 2023/24 spec has a 7 pin round trailer electrics connector. Pin 2 should be a lead that is wired for trailer brakes, but given there is no brake controller fitted stock I am wondering if this lead is wired in the socket, and if so what for, and where it is terminated inside the car? The idea being to find that termination and connect it to the brake controller to avoid running wires to the socket and butchering the socket...
Thread 'Overhead switch wiring'
Does anyone have a diagram on what switches control what extra wires? interior front foot wells on driver and passenger sides (assuming these are INT 1 and INT 2) two spots in the engine compartment (thinking EXT 1 and EXT 5) Obviously the 500a is for the winch/nato plug (EXT 4) That would leave EXT 2 and EXT 3 for the 4 spots on the roof and wondering if they are setup as Left/Right side pairs or Front/Rear pairs as I’m working to wire in some side and rear spotlights.
I noticed that if I have emergency/hazard lights on and also use turn signal lights (either left or right), I will get this "position light error" on the dash. to clear this warning message, turn off the engine and restart it. assume this is a bug and hopefully it will be fixed by software updates someday.
Had anyone tried the B58 tune available through Dinan? https://www.dinancars.com/products/software-tuning/engine-tuning/engine-software/stage-1-engine-software/parts/D900-B58-F-S1
With the 500amp line running to the NATO plug in the back I'm wanting to use that to add an inverter. What side do the wires run on? The left by the jack or the right? Also does anyone know what the max dimensions for an inverter are? I'd like to go as big as possible simply because I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. In the future I'd like to be able to power powertools, an induction stove, other things.
my front parking sensors have never been ok, they alarm all the time even when nothing is there and they sound a continuous tone with no variable tone as you approach something. I have been forced to turn them off completely. I was hoping the software update would fix it but no change. They tell me that many other with roo bars have had the same issue. My agent who have been great with everything throw their hands in the air as INEOS seek to have no solution, they advise holding down reset...
Thread 'Black (infotainment) screen'
I’m not sure if this is a new topic, but I didn’t find “black (infotainment) screen” as a discussed problem yet. First some history: 14.12.2023 Today was our pickup day. Our anticipation was huge. When my wife and I arrived, there was no Gren in the showroom. No salesperson either. 20 minutes late salesperson arrived and apologised: when preparing the vehicle for the handover this morning the (infotainment) screen was and remained black. He said that he was aware of a lot of gremlins...
Thread 'UP-hill assist error'
Yep! You read it right. After total mirror failure for the third time - ten days no mirror movement on command - my sixth and last error message was “Uphill assist not available”. Didn’t know I had it or how or why to invoke it! Does it mean the INEOS Gremlins have left the building and are no longer available when the BMW bhp proves insufficient?
Living in New Orleans I expect to see negative numbers, but the city isn't 70' below sea level. Should be showing around 8-10' above sea level where it sits. Anyone know of an issue or is this just a limitation of altimeters in vehicles that I have to live with?
Hi all. Not being much of an electrical engineer, can you clarify that, with the Auxiliary electrical wiring and switchgear, the four external sockets are controlled by the four “EXT” switches in the roof panel? Having fitted a roof rack, I’m now fitting a rear work light and an amber beacon (for work). The trouble is, three of the four external sockets all appear to run off the EXT 3 switch, with the fourth socket running off one of the other EXT switches. If there’s a connection...
Hello all. I am anticipating delivery of my new truck and it got me thinking about doing a nice audio upgrade. I was at the dealer yesterday and I was thinking about what could go where. I would love to hear from others about how they tackled this project. I did see one Youtube bit that was done by a shop in the UK. My other car is Land Rover HSE 2016 and it has a great system. I would like to put a 3 way speaker system in the front, sub located somewhere, and use the Alpine HDS-990 so...
Thread 'Rescue Data Sheets'
In Germany it is common for the fire brigade and rescue services to have access to so-called "rescue data sheets". The largest German automobile club ADAC also has them for download. See photo e.g. Defender. It is not yet available for the Grenadier. Is there inside information?
Got in my granted deer today and turned it on. The display came up and said something about CarPlay and new widgets and showed a clock. I swiped it away and eventually I got what looks like my normal CarPlay set up, but I can’t get ways to work? It looks like phone messages and other apps work like music. But every time I try to use Waze it crashes the system. I had my grant deer updated weeks ago, and I haven’t updated my phone lately, that I know of. This happened to anyone else.
On the roof outlets it would be convenient for me to have two separate circuits on the passenger side as well. One switch for the front outlet and another for the rear one, just like on the driver’s side. It would also be helpful to know where the wires come together. Does anyone have a tip on that?
Thread 'Speedo switched sides overlaying on main screen'
Today a weird thing happened. My speedo side of the infotainment switched sides and became American / European rather than British / NZ/ Australian. I.e it hopped from the driver side over to the passenger side. The bit of screen where it normal is went blank. And the menu /Apple CarPlay side of things stayed on the usual side but with the speedo etc over the top of it. Never seen it before. I switched off and left it for a minute - still there. So I left it for 5 minutes and it sorted...
Hi Everyone - New Fieldmaster. Over the past couple days the CCI knob has developed a high pitched squeak when turning the knob. Any suggestions? Was silent when I bought it a week ago. Thanks!
I have been trying to get both my Google and/or Apple Maps to be more audible while driving using CarPlay. I have adjusted every CarPlay and Ineos Audio Setting and experimented with all of them ad nauseam but to no avail. I UNDERSTAND that the instructions voice can ONLY be adjusted when the Map voice is speaking, but when up full, on volume 14, it's still far too quiet to hear wheel driving. Once up to highway speed with road and wind noise, windows CLOSED, it really can't be heard too...
I recently had the shorter 2024 model Software Update by my dealer. (not the long 5 hour update). It did allow me to permanently turn off the ADAS stuff, but I have noticed now that the START / STOP feature is no longer working, regardless of whether I push the START / STOP button or not. So mine seems to be permanently "disabled." It's not really a problem as I prefer it to be OFF, but I was curious if any other North American owners are experiencing this too?
Hi guys, been a while since I posted on here. I am after some advice around using a power adaptor that uses the OBD2 port for a dashcam, is anyone using the system and have they had any problems or is it pretty much plain sailing. Have read they can throw up some fault codes but a lot of that seems to be old posts around the internet. I believe the cable is fused and there is also a lower power sensor so it won’t just flatten the battery while parked. It might be relevant to say I am...
