Thread 'Grenny and Me: An Old-School ADAS Workaround'
Alright, before we dive in, let’s clear one thing up—I take full responsibility for my ADAS mod. If you don’t agree with it, don’t do it. Simple as that. This solution works for *me*. I didn’t buy my Grenny (aka my beloved Grenadier) to feel like I’ve got a full-time babysitter riding shotgun. I even sold my G63 because all those nanny systems sucked the joy out of driving. The problem, and reason I'll never part with my Grenny is its pure magic. She’s got so much personality and is a...
Thread 'Defective head unit ECU - again!'
Hello, some of you may remember my thread from January 2024. https://www.theineosforum.com/threads/black-infotainment-screen.12414276/ When we finally took delivery of our Grenadier with a new head unit ECU on 01.03.2024, we assumed that that was it. Wrong thinking, as it turned out today. On Monday, we dropped the Grenny off at the dealer, for renewal of the four door seals and three campaigns, including software update 1.4 for MY23. The truck was supposed to be ready for collection...
Thread 'Internal Connectors for External Roof Power Outlets (U.S.) - Discovery, Investigation, and Question'
I am in the process of following in @Jean Mercier's footsteps to connect the solar panel on my tent through the rear right external roof power outlet (as described by Jean here). As shown in Jean's helpful pic as well as the Buzz Overland pic of the same area in their Gutted Grenadier thread, the internal connector for the roof power outlet in their builds was a DTP connector - just like the connector at the external power outlet: Jean's pic: Buzz Overland's pic: Imagine my surprise...
Thread 'Appreciate some help with adding an AUX battery'
I have been taking the kids camping pretty often and the power station we had wasn’t really cutting it. I decided to upgrade to an EcoFlow Delta 2 which has 1024WH and can run at 1,800W output. I also added the EcoFlow alternator charger which is great because it outputs 800W and charges the Delta 2 in a little over an hour. I thought about going with a regular Lifepo4 battery and a dc to dc charger and then an inverter but I couldn’t find anything that would charge a battery as fast as the...
Thread 'Info “trip”'
Hi, last week I had the service done with the relative software update. Since then the “trip” information no longer detects the distance traveled since the last reset but only indicates the distance traveled daily and the following day it resets automatically. Do you have any idea how to make the partial distance visible again as before? In this way it becomes useless for me. Thaks
Hi, we (4 Grenadiers) are since one week in Albania for overlanding. My screen behind the steering wheel is since two days now black, no indicator, no light. took out the fuses for the cockpit, set in again. Anyone with an idea? 2000km in the next days back until Matzker can help me. P.S. Grenadier is running like the hell and no other issues
I just drove across the majority of the US Heartland and back this last week. Arizona to Wisconsin and the return leg. I did realize that the stock headlamps are absolutely horrible at night on two lane undivided highways at 70 mph+ speeds. The squashed insects on the windscreen made vision even worse. We stopped every hour or so to squeegee the windscreen and headlamp lenses. I rolled the height of the beams and could not get a good focus on the center line and white line ahead without...
Looking for some help regarding installing roof lights. I've purchased a pair of Baja s2 to mount. I've attempted to install them today but struggled with the connection being a little loose. I think the connections on my rig are slightly bigger (barrel for wire) than the one I have with my deutch connection kit I got online? Also using supplied opposite end doesn't seem to lock the wires in as well as the kit I've used in the past for interior connections in the footwell. Fairly...
Hi all , hope you are having fun with your INEOS . I purchase mine with the aux system, when I received it the sales rep said that I didn’t have the aux battery due that I purchased the upgraded entertainment system and the battery could not fit . I am supposed to have all the wiring in place . How can I do a work around to get the power I need ? Can’t see the truck battery to support a campsite . Thanks
Has anyone installed semi plain jane yellow lights in place of the factory fog lights? I like the Baja Designs XL-R 80 lights, but I really just like the old school yellow Hella style lights. I found a pic of a grenadier at some point in the last couple of weeks with the yellow lights but now I can't find it.
I had a new update on Saturday 9/7/2024. Later in the night one of the TMPS sensors lost connection, 5 min later the other 3 lost connection. Hasn’t reset since. Anyone experiencing an issue like this?
This morning the battery was deeply discharged and the second battery was also unable to start the Grenny. It was no longer possible to charge the starter battery. So I swapped the second battery for the starter battery. The battery monitor showed a charge level of 27%! Apparently the trickle system, as described by Dr-Rok, also leads to suicide of the second battery if the starter battery is deeply discharged. The protection provided by the Ctek Smartbox is obviously not working. The Ineos...
HI, Does anyone have any simple instructions as to how to remover the plastic covers over the main battery. I took a quick look today and removed some of the torx screws but it still does not look easy to remove to get full access to the battery and wiring. Also on the 7 post busbar there is a spare terminal number 4 that i believe is for the inverter when fitted. Is this a suitable place to attach a connection to power external 12v devices ?
Thread 'Key fob broken?'
My key fob has lost spring tension. On disassembly it appears that it may be broken as I cannot work out how to re-tension the spring. Please see attached photos. The circled areas are rough and seem like they could mate together. I assume the die cast has fractured here. The small piece is pictured upside down for clarity. If flipped over and attached to the key housing the spring would lock in. It appears that if the two pieces are attached the could apply tension to the spring...
Hi all I want to take my Grenadier on a road trip to the drive in. As a background to this discussion, there is a showing of "Blazing Saddles" at the local drive in cinema (about an hour out of Townsville) tonight. 50 years since it was made, apparently. Now I feel old. I am classified as a (just snuck in) Baby Boomer, fondly remember watching this with my parents (10 years after it came out), and laughing hysterically. I have a 16 year old son, who expresses horror at my occasional...
Picked up my Grenadier 2 days ago. Parked it over night and woke up to a totally black infotainment screen. Disconnected the batteries and sure enough, the screen came back on. Drove it for the day and had no problems. Parked it last night and woke up again to a totally black screen. Disconnected the batteries and now it's not coming back. Getting tons of errors on the dash and the two locker lights are blinking. Any thoughts on what to do here? The dealership is closed today.
I have been documenting my woes in another thread specifically related to leaking into the car. The other issue I had raised with the dealer is condensation drips into the front footwells when using the A/C. Given I live in Hell's Kitchen (Texas) we use that a lot. Dealer response. Many people have this issue and we have opened a case with Ineos. No known fix is available. We think they may be a retro fit part at some point. Just writing this in case you have the issue and/or have found a...
Ok guys - I have another pretty technical question. Anyone have any idea how to program a new key? I know that most people are going to say “go to the dealer”, but there has to be a procedure? Typically speaking, with a real key there is a chip in the key and the programing can be done manually once the key is actually cut at the dealer or by a locksmith as long as you have a currently programmed key. This can typically be done with the VIN# and a copy of an insurance card that shows you...
With the headlight switch on Auto and when the headlights come on the Compass/Altimeter back light is bright. Once the headlights go off, the back light dims to the point you can barely read the display. It seems backwards. Same if I turn the headlight switch to off, the back light dims. I have not found a way to adjust it.
I am having trouble locating the Yellow/Green high beam wire under the bonnet in my US, left hand drive Grenadier. Any help? Photos of the location?
