Thread 'Side Mirror Issue'
I haven’t seen this in the forums so perhaps I’m an anomaly. I can’t get my driver’s side view mirror adjusted out enough to get a proper use of it. Currently, I’ve pushed the mirror out beyond the motor’s adjustment and have replaced the OEM glass with SUMA’s concave mirror. Even still, half of my side view is of the body. It makes the blind spot a b*#%! on the highway. For the record, this was an issue before the SUMA mirrors. I can at least get a little more side-view with these new...
I’ve been meaning to mention to the group but I noticed after delivery that my Scottish White G has acid rain etching. It’s not noticeable on the white unless in the right light but it’s fairly significant. I had the G ceramic coated and they did their best to remove the issues but many are deep. To make matters a bit more problematic, our Gs have a relatively thin paint on them. I watched the guy take measurements everywhere. Very consistent readings but thin. He mentioned to be...
Hello folks! Well I’ll be damned if I cannot find a pass-through in the firewall. Canny posted a video from a RHD model that would have been perfect for my Wolfbox 900 tri pro bumper camera where a grommet was located. Unfortunately mine does not have this. Does anyone have any suggestions for routing wires from the cabin to the engine bay? Thanks a ton!
Thread 'I can see clearly now….the rain has gone'
Hi crew, very short post regarding finally getting windscreen wiper and windscreen combination that works! I can see!!! After a few replacements, I’ve just gone with an aftermarket XYG windscreen, to be fair, It actually looks flatter and better surfaced than the original Pilkington that I’ve been using (last one was not flat/smooth). I also added some wiperdirect blades $60 delivered. The combination of these two has me driving a modern vehicle again! I can actually see when it rains…...
Thread 'SHOW US YOUR WRAP AND WINDOW TINTS'
I Just received my Grenadier back from Wrap Labs in Westlake, California. Prior to installing my low profile 3/4 Leitner Designs Roof Rack I wanted to get the roof wrapped as I live at the coast and it will not be easy to wash under it. I also had an experience of over using the window washing fluid on a prior Range Rover Sport, which ate into and ruined the clear coat paint finish. I won’t be doing that again. I had Wrap Labs install the following; XPEL Stealth 7.5 mills, which has a...
On many occasions I have found my rear side (left) window to be partially open on my return to the vehicle. Not sure if this is due to me hitting the door button as I exit. Generally open around 6 inches or 200mm. Anyone else experienced similar?
We need a new windscreen every year due to stone chipping ….. The next one will be no 3
I have been quoted £3500 for PPF for the two sides of the car (so excluding the back, bonnet and roof). This is for a 7 year guarantee film (12 years would be £4000). Does this sound about right? Also, any thoughts on if it is worth if for protection from off roading/green laning? The self heaving properties of the film don’t last forever, so will I just end up with scratches showing up on the film. It is a lot of money if it just end up looking scratched up. Thoughts welcome!
Even tone so I been told Try my best I live in Kansas City and I was one of the first 10 buyer from salt lake dealer Driving the car home and the windshield breaks honestly I've been hit harder with a rock in my 50 year old karmann ghia and certainly harder it's my 110 Sat on it - just got bigger Need a new windshield Ineos insists on me driving the car 1000 miles back to salt lake or Texas or Chicago Won't help at all In the meanwhile Rear seat latch broke while...
Thread 'Windscreen calibration after replacement'
I need a new windscreen after a dozen or so dings and one large horizontal crack. The local glass shops tell me that even if they order a windscreen and and drain gutter from Ineos, they can not replace the windscreen because they do not have the data to recalibrate the related sensors. They further tell me that nationally, most manufacturers provide that data to Autel, an automotive technology distributor, and installers across the country use Autel supplied data to recalibrate after glass...
Hi. I am about to pull the trigger on a grenadier trailmaster in Canberra. I would like to see if there are any PPF recommendations in the area? I originally had my heart on Bushwrapz however the only installer in Canberra no longer offer this option they offer STEK now which seems inferior for durability. Cheers. Simon.
Thread 'Peeling Trialmaster Badge'
Had anyone else noticed a peeling Trialmaster badge? The car has had standard handwashing over the last 18 months.
Thread 'Windshield Reinforcement Work'
Yesterday, I had the windshield reinforced. If the glass is hit by a stone in the center, it can be repaired, but if it hits the edge, it needs to be replaced. So I attached a molding to the edge. When I finished, it looked like a factory original. And because the ladder seemed slippery, I put some non-slip tape on the steps. This article is translated by Google. I hope the meaning is conveyed well.
Thread 'Loose missing screen washer jet'
Hi, keep an eye on your screen washer jets as they can come loose & pop up or completely come out. Keep an eye on your screen jet washers as they can become loose, lift up or pop out completely. Just push them back down if they raise up or talk to your (not so) local service centre to get a new one. I found that the washers lost their power (although I don't find them very strong), loosing one causes the other to loose a bit of power & might be the reason if you find your jet washers...
Thread 'small rear door gliding mechanism defect'
Last weekend, while I was improving my "bed solution" and "side table" I heard something broke and some parts falling in the smaller rear door. Therefore I dismounted the panel and saw this (where I pushed the vertical axle back in place in the white part): With my hand and a magnet i could recuperate the other pieces that fell down, a plastic piece, a spring and a ball: Probably the axle did - due to vibrations - slide up bit by bit till it went out of the white plastic piece. After a...
I’ve noticed that the front side windows collect grime due to airflow from the A pillar and I think the side mirrors. It seems in rain/wet, that grime collects right where you’d look through the window to look in the mirror, and the mirror picks up gunk too. In the winter, the side windows pick up ice accumulation in the same spot. I think it is the big square, flat shape of the mirrors seems to be encouraging it? Anyone else notice it? Thoughts on how to prevent it? Maybe strip of...
Hi all. In short- in Australia, what protective films or other solutions have you found that work to stop the constant breakages? I’d love a glass upgrade, but searched in vain for nil. In long- it’s official, Ineos have the worst glass I’ve seen, and I’ve done a lot of kilometres in a lot of cars. Combination of upright nature and poor quality IMO. Even tiny chips result in substantial cracks once the car heats up (e.g thermal expansion when parked in sun). I do repair if I find them...
Thread 'Front Grommet in wiper tray'
I know I've seen this before in the forum, but my search has been fruitless,I can't remember what thread it was discussed in. My grommet has come out of the front plastic tray. Someone found the exact size and replacement source. Please can anybody remember where they obtained them from.
So i just had the windshield replaced at a dealer that is 3.5hrs away. I noticed that the windshield was not aligned properly. It was too low on the bottom passenger corner and almost (or even touching) the frame. It was also a little short on the top passenger corner and did not go under the rain gutter. I also noticed the top rain gutter piece that should be replaced was wavy and not stuck down properly on the entire roof side edge. When i brought this up, i was told that it is hard to...
