Yesterday, I had the windshield reinforced.
If the glass is hit by a stone in the center, it can be repaired, but if it hits the edge, it needs to be replaced.
So I attached a molding to the edge.
When I finished, it looked like a factory original.
And because the ladder seemed slippery, I put some non-slip tape on the steps.
This article is translated by Google. I hope the meaning is conveyed well.

Translation is good. The rubber molding looks good. Is it held on by an adhesive tape? My windshield cracked starting from the bottom edge. I might try this when I get my windshield replaced.

The molding has 3M double-sided tape on the back, making it very strong.

Just came here to post about it. My wife got me the stuff from Amazon. Getting a new windshield put on in two weeks and going to redo it then.

A Dynamat Roller would help a lot to get that strip down securely and save your fingers.

I installed my trim today. It took about 30 minutes. Thank you OWL.

I used a Dynamat roller and trim tool to make the process easier on my fingers. I will write up the extra steps.

I did mine last week in the 'hot' UK summer, the rubber was soft and easy to bend without any crease or extra equipment to press down. It looks really good and goes with the standard rubber across the top on the early versions, makes it look finished.

Let me know what you think of the write up. Better or worse?
That looks fine to me, I didn't use any rubbing alcohol, just gave it a good clean all round. Just used the sun to soften the rubber and left it at that. Didn't make any channels for water to escape just fitted as close to top as possible after removing the screwed on corner trim. All pressed on with fingers. Will see how long it lasts 🤔

I had the rubbing alcohol for other work (applying stickers to windows). I know it cleans without leaving any film being left behind.

I also had the dynamat roller for my door seals. And I know it works. Much kinder on my fingers and allows me to apply more pressure than fingers alone.
