Bumpers & protection What Rocksliders / Side Steps did you choose

Yeah those were gonna be it but I really like the aluminum look. Really can’t beat the Buzz though. But from what I saved it’ll almost pay for a leitner 3/4 rack I’ve been eyeing. Great looking rig

Do you think there’ll be lots of build up dirt that gets between the top plate and the black steel? Will the screw holes rust that connect the two pieces?
🧐
Taking a serious look at these…

3 days use. Driver side and raining. Not too worried on build up angles you got muddied boots. As for rust looks like stainless screws. Assuming they would put something to seal threads loc Loc tite but not sure.

Could I bug you once more for a pic of the mounting on the bottom, when it’s dry there?

Good morning :)

I have been driving my Grenadier for about 3 weeks, and with my dad and kids i think its time to add some rock sliders with side step options lol.

I went to Overland Expo East and saw a couple of options in person. But most items are still online… so it is hard to judge.

From looking st different options i am really liking the black sheep sliders with side step option. Except for the price😂

My criteria are that they will function as sliders as i am a newbie and certain to make mistakes 😂 but still need side steps to help my dad get in the vehicle…

What did you choose and why? If you dont mind sharing.

Any photos?

Thanks
Gabe
Owl sliders/steps. I installed them myself and it wasn't too difficult(57 years old today). Would have been much easier with a lift and/or another person but I'm impatient. :)

I’d like to see this too. (y)

Thanks for posting Goliath - I never heard of them. I have Buzz sliders but I just ordered the transmission skid from Goliath. A lot simpler than building my own and 3/16 steel.

Would you be able to measure the protrusion from the step from the rocker panel for the driver/passenger step? We are looking for functional and wide steps - and the Owl steps seem to be as wide as the https://www.signatureautosports.com/ ones

FYI the Signatureautosports steps proport to be 4 3/4 from the rocker.

BTW - here's an Owl slider/step install video -

This is how they mount. All 3 factory mounting position.

Washed the dust off the car last night. This is how it looks in the morning. It's pretty overcast here.

There is grip tape on the sliders, comes with it, that makes it easy to step on it without sliding off.

I wanted dissent and have been waiting for them to come in stock. Their site now says late 2026. So guess I'll be probably going with OWL instead. Need something soon so I can go on some unmaintained roads this year. They get tight and have a lot of rocks.

Even when Dissent's are available again, they may have a 12 to 16 week waiting period after you order them. I take the message on their website to indicate they are going to do a slight redesign, but won't be able to get to it until late this year.

My vehicle before my Grenadier was a 250 Land Cruiser. In July 2024 I was in the first wave to order Dissent's sliders for that vehicle. Didn't receive them until around January 2025.
