I'm assuming, as are many others, that this is adaptive (RADAR) cruise control? Some think it's speed limit warnings based on signage or GPS? Is it both? Is it either? Does it encompass other features? Thanks!

Solution
INEOS Americas Updated Response, please disregard the previous version:

The ADAS1 for the 24MY Grenadier does not offer Adaptative Cruise Control. The system includes:
– Intelligent Speed Assistance
– Lane Departure Warning
– Automatic Emergency Braking
– Driver Drowsiness Detection

Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) detects road signs on both the
right and left side of the road, including overhead signs, to
aid the driver with useful information.
If the speedometer speed is above the detected speed limit
on the road signs, then the ISA system will alert the driver
with both an acoustic and visual warning.
In addition, the system uses a local map database (NDS
map) to enhance system performance where speed limit
signs are not visible.

Reading speed signs requires a camera which would be mounted on the windscreen
The alternative is taking speed limits from a map system, such as Waze, which would night be 100% accurate.
Adaptive cruise control is usually done by radar, although Subaru did it with a camera.

In my Jaguar I specifically have to turn on the speed limiter. I had it one once to see what it was. Hasn't been on again.

Well THAT'S unfortunate. 😕 I was really hoping for RADAR cruise.

It does say 'Market Specific', so who knows what we'll end up with.

What that means is that in some markets they won't get ADAS 1 (I believe perhaps Australia?) The actual components are equivalent globally

I’ll be shutting 3 out of the 4 down every time I start it up. These are all federal regulations unfortunately. Adaptive cruise would have been nice and I have a hard time faulting emergency braking but lane assist really pisses me off the majority of the time.

That makes me feel better. The only extra I would have liked is Adaptive CC and I thought I had missed it by a few months. Other than that, loving my Grenadier with just the regular CC

I'm with you - hopefully the option will be there to deactivate some of these things.

Well, boo. Not surprised, but if they're gonna implement all that, why not adaptive cruise? Hopefully someone will offer a flash or OBDII plug to turn that and lane departure off on start up.

Thanks for the effort and answer. Now if they'll just update my order status on the portal...

With 20mph speed limits coming into play in parts of the UK, can anyone say if the speed limiter option will actually limit the speed? For example, the BMW system, where you just press a button to get it to set the maximum speed to stop you from breaking the law and getting a fine/points?

Newbie (so, please be kind!)

It seems there will be little left for the driver to actually do, before too long!

The US is big, transversed with super highways.
Adaptive cruise control is an excellent addition to a vehicle, especially when the traffic tightens. I wouldn't have ever expected level lll safety features because of the simplicity focus of the IG however.

Heads up display is another great highway tool. You can add a basic unit that plugs into the OBDll port for very little money. It will put speed and warnings up in front of the driver.

Yes the US is huge compared to little old Australia.
Not so much when compared to Africa or South America

Hi Drummerboy
Welcome to the forum and apologies for having to be the bearer of bad news. The Grenadier does not have the facility to limit speed like my Mercedes or BMW. That said, I have never felt a need to use the limiter when I can simply have cruise at the level I choose. I do understand the flexibility that the limit adjustment can provide, just never got used to it.
On the plus side. The Grenadier CC is very simple to employ.

It isn't about size, more a people thing. 350million of them, all wanting to go somewhere.
Highway safety features make long drives much safer and easier.
A regular run for me to the AZ desert is 3 days at highway speed on interstates.
2200 miles each way.
People in the US cover a lot of ground.
I find it interesting how everyone's needs/uses vary so much worldwide.
It's quite the challenge bringing an adaptable vehicle platform to market that can easily be enjoyed in each market.
