What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Will these fit around the grab handle with the electric connection? Or must they go on the empty handle?
Should fit, as on my QM:

I'm part way through some off-schedule servicing and a bit of preventative maintenance. I pulled the lid off the airbox today to check inside for cleanliness. The filter was replaced at the 24 month service with 26,500km on the odometer. I'm now at 33,500km but I expected the filter to be ok. I was wrong.

This is how the filter was when I lifted the lid. The service technician pinched the seal when it was installed . That's bad workmanship. It has been leaking slightly ever since.
My vehicle is now off the road while I source a new filter. I tried to do a temporary repair to this one but it's too far gone. Plus, I cannot find a glue in my workshop that will bond this rubber. EPDM maybe? Contact cement and standard CA don't work.

My agent no longer exists so there's no come back there. Annoying.

Very annoying and piss poor on the so called technicians part.

This happens as the captive bolt catches the seal, I brought this to my dealers attention and they posted a new one to me (I live 250klms away) all service techs should know this

It's quite a compromised job with obstructions all around it.
Of course it's the week between Christmas and New Year so a lot of parts places are closed. I could not get Ignition on the phone today so I've sent them an email. They might also be closed until next week.
Nothing aftermarket near me.
I'm not desperate for the vehicle. I did have some short trips planned but they can wait.

When you find a supplier buy a spare as well.

Isn't it just a standard BMW Mahle LX 3985? Same day on Amazon where I live.

Ideally the 3985/2 as it has the fluffy pre filter which the /1 and /3 don't have.

This is a Mahle LX3985/1. 64mm high with fluffy pre-filter. B57 diesel.

Nothing on Amazon AU. Import only.

I picked up one of those in South Africa at a BMW garage and it’s not deep enough. As @Clark Kent noted above they should be around 64mm deep.
