Just stay away from the monthly competition, which does require your Grenadier to be in view or part of, as it's obviously cheating

Winters back on - got caught out with a bit of snow this week but it has reinforced my opinion the BFG AT are absolutely fine in fresh snow with lots of feel and good bite but are pretty unpleasant on compacted snow and ice. Dropping the pressures certainly helps, down to 30psi and they are much better but nowhere near as good as dedicated winter tyres.

I do wish there was an MT pattern tyre with lots of sipes and a winter compound. I’d never buy anything else.

A track I use 2 or 3 times a week is muddy and deeply rutted and the AT’s cope fine with it but I rather suspect that when the snow is gone these winters will be useless on it if the ground is wet.

Always the annual dilemma - I need my muds more in the autumn/winter but then occasionally I need one with a softer compound and lots of sipes - unfort too much of a compromise, one or t'other so I stick with muds and only swap over to the AT's if heading to snow sure places, agree not great on the hard stuff or ice but better than my muds. Will probably look for a dedicated winter, nokian etc when the AT's have had their day.

In fairness, I used Grabber AT2’s year-round on our old 90TD5 for years, all year round, and they were fine. Maybe it’s just the BFG’s I don’t get on with.

I wonder if their (BFG) AT K03's are any better in the packed stuff....you'd hope there would be an improvement all round but again maybe at the improvement of one element comes at the expense of another.

This swapping tyres with the seasons is such a foreign concept to us Aussies.
The closest I get is wanting to put on a set of mud tyres when I head outback, but touch wood so far I’ve made do with agressive AT’s.

The Toyo seems to be the best siped-MT available. I think I’m still going to skip it in favor of the 35” Mickey Thompson Baja. We don’t see a lot of local snow but a few trips every Winter do.
