Just curious on what peoples opinions are on aftermarket and or Ineos skid protection and what is considered the best.

Thanks

Plenty of options available. Quite a few on the forum using RIVAL.

Best is not the criteria to consider, but what works for you depending on your vehicle usage.

Here is a list from Australia

UNDER-BODY PROTECTION
  1. Custom Offroad Bash Plates, look here. Installation tips here;
  2. Custom Offroad diff protectors here. Installation Guide here;
  3. Custom Offroad Grenadier Trailing Arm Protectors here;
  4. EURO FLO Expedition Equipment’s fuel filter guard here. More information and images concerning the guard here;
  5. EURO FLO Expedition also has a front deflector plate and a Transfer Case Deflector Plate;
  6. RIVAL Australia under body Armour here (various packages);
  7. Agile Offroad armor (Australian agent) here;
  8. XLW Parts’ Front Differential Guard here;
  9. Almont 4WD from Spain, look here;
  10. Rival AU has some here;
  11. US options here; and

I have a mix of agile off-road and rival plates.
The parts from agile seem a bit nicer designed but they both seem to do the job well. I bought the rival parts first when they were the only game in town. Mine a are gen 1 parts. I liked agiles gas tank protection better so that's what I went with.

I've seen the owl part with the plasticky sliders. Looks very nice but lots of dollars for what it is IMHO.

Metalcloak has parts too. They have a real good reputation out here on the West Coast of the US.

I have Owl's skid plates and love the so far. Just got back from week of off roading in and around Salida/Buena Vista/Leadville and the skids did their job wonderfully!

Do you happen to know the weight of the OEM protection plates on the Grenadier? I'm curious how many net KGs a full set of the Rival plates adds (the 6 piece set is 46.6 KG).

Here is Logsplitters image of that beaten up rear plate

The stamping on the rival gives the Al plates dimension and strength. One needs to take the time to make a stamp to do that, and while not smooth and pretty, it imparts the most strength.

Steel is superior in every way. The metal cloak diff plates are steel, and zinc coated. As of writing this, buying any aluminum in favor is idiotic. I snagged the AO cast iron diff covers and the metal cloak. Theses axles are going to be unique and irreplaceable whe… if Ineos tanks. Protect them like crushing them leads to custom Dynatracs costing you 25g.
