Transmission?

So I see that it has a BMW B58 engine in it. When it comes to transmission, it is the same version as the station wagon? The Quartermaster is bigger and heavier. The ZF version was not at the same level as in a Jeep Unlimited- it was a ‘lesser’ spec version. Did they up the transmission?

The whole grenadier design is pretty ‘beefed up’; and the pairing of these bmw motors and zf gearboxes are well understood. Hopefully we can all expect the gearbox has the right amount of beef in all variants?
the quatermaster is designed for the same gvm and towing limits, and these combined with the torque are whats relevant for gearbox choice, so theres no reason it should be different from the station wagon.
The only real relevance for petrol owner might be if they are wanting to significantly increase engine output (at risk of reliability/longevity and carefully mapped torque). Maybe this is going to be more common in some markets, but for the uses the grenadier is aimed at, it’s already pretty powerful. Unless youre comparing with huge US trucks, which, for lots of reasons you guys are well aware of (price, comfort accessories, road manners etc etc) it doesnt compete with. It’s all in the niche!

According to Ineos' own specs the Quartermaster is the exact same weight as a standard station wagon (and thus same payload with same GVWR). I would doubt very much that anything in the drivetrain (except the length of the driveshaft) is different.
