Transfer Case Gear Lever - pin

Mine just dropped out! This is a pain as I use low and locked a lot.
I was about to post for help but I have fixed it.
Here’s how in case anyone is interested.
Remove the 4 Allen screws from the grey surround
Gently pull up the gaiter. It pops out the grey surrounding can be left where it is.
Pull the gaiter up over the knob.
Now you can see two black plastic clips that locate on the grey shaft.
Gently pry these clips away from the grey shaft and the whole thing will slide off.
Set that aside and remove the spring and the metal rod that it sits on.
Make note of the orientation of the metal rod. It has a machined flat section that faces rearward.
Push the metal rod with the spring on it up into the knob. Look through the hole that the little pin fell out of and once you see the hole in the metal pin line up insert the little pin.
Now push the whole lot back into place until the two black plastic clips locate on the grey shaft.
The hole in the lift ring is oval so the pin is loose in there. I put some hot wax glue in it. Hopefully it holds.
Hi Tom
In one of your pic's you show the transfer leaver shaft with spring. Can you remember if the flat face should face forward or to the rear of the vehicle?
